Wunala Dreaming? Looks more like Wunala Screaming...
Wasn't "The City of Redfern" painted by that Pakistani-Italian gentleman that was (allegedly) up for (alleged) art fraud for (allegedly) passing off his work as aboriginal? Good advertising.

This could well be the singularly best marketing move by an airline. It could also be a spectacular failure, let's hope that 707 is in good nick.
Metric system haha ...

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I'm having a mild debate about JT/Qantas and the use of the 707 on another forum with this guy who says that the 707 in question is an ex RAAF. Basically, his point is that the RAAF are getting rid of these aircraft as they are too old and he says it's a possible accident waiting to happen!
I'm saying that the aircraft would have to be certified by CASA or whoever and that there are heaps of "old" aircraft flying around that are maintained to a high standard.
Any ideas as to where I can find out the origins of this aircraft?
Cheers, All.

The history of N707JT
This aircraft was never with the RAAF. Whoever thought that is confused with the later B707-338C. Four of these -338 aircraft which served with QANTAS ended up with the RAAF.
N707JT a B707-138B was delivered new to QANTAS in September 1964, as the City of Launceston, VH-EBM.
Manufacturer's Serial Number 18740. Boeing Line Number 388.
It's original engine type was the turbo-fan JT3D-1. Now hushkitted.
It was leased/sold by the airline in June 1969 to Braniff Airways, whereby it became N108BN. Had another couple of private owners after that, and it's subsequent registration was N707XX. I understand that John Travolta purchased it circa 1998 from the estate of Frank Sinatra, whereby it became N707JT.
Regards

Come fly with me: John Travolta salutes the crowd at Los Angeles International Airport after been named an "ambassador at large" for Qantas. He will tour the world piloting his personal jet and promoting Australia's national airline.

Don`t kid yourself mate.
Your as clumsy,if not more,in as many areas as AN was.
Our PR Dept was great when Murdoch had a share-sound liasons with the media. So good in fact,a secretly comissioned survey found most punters believed the INH debacle to be a QF incident.
