because the people supposedly being interviewed next week were picked quite a while ago, but due to management pilot resources - ie people spending their time managing the company rather than interviewing - were unable to get looked at until now.
Like anything there is a leadtime for interviews, they don't decide on monday who they will talk to that afternoon, it is organised sometime in advance.
The no more interviews for a while story is correct, most people interviewed now won't get a start until late November, December....
there is nothing underhanded, and there is no skullduggery going on....

Have heard similar stories recently as well.
I guess its their set of toys and they can therefore do what they like.
More likely is the huge volume of applications needed to be slowed down somehow hence the .....not until September comments on the emails ?
The most curious twist is that they may be looking for LHS again.
In the big picture any news is good news, recruitment should continue for quite a while yet.

With one or two possible exceptions, they are NOT looking for Direct Entry Captains.
They now have sufficient numbers of experienced F/O's to train internally.
D/E Capts will come from people previously offered positions who have deferred, or people that have skills that are required for future purposes - ie management types etc.
As I have previously said, the people coming for interviews now had been selected some time previously.
The person organising the interviews doesn't throw a dart into a bit of paper and choose names, she has a list of people hat she needs to get through....
Having said all that, if you did get an interview today, you wouldn't get a start until December anyway.
6 months waiting would be very painful in my opinion.

Those getting called in at present would'nt happen to be Impulse 1900 drivers or KD/HZ Saab and Metro drivers by any chance ?
I guess these guys have stepped up their hunt as their current employment becomes cloudy ?

It's strange isn't it? A company who is actively recruiting, who gives everyone a fair go (whether rated or not), who has an uncomplicated interview process, who keeps you informed of the recruiting situation, who is providing a way out of GA - and still we are not happy!
Is it possible we have all become cynical after the treatment dished out by QF/AN etc over the years? Are our standards perhaps a tad too high?
