If DJ has the resources in time, I would like to see them tackle Intra WA. At present Western Australia it is basically a QF monopoly. Having worked in WA and in particular the Kimberley for a number of years , I found that AN and Airlink basically milked WA and provided a level of service that would be scoffed at on the east coast. Competition has to be a good thing.
Broome and Kununurra would be good starting points say from Darwin.
(Oh I hated that Brasilia).

Look at an old Ansett timetable and that should give you a fair idea. Sydney-Coffs is a good example of this.
Remember the original press releases from Godfrey, any town/city with a population over 50000 people could be in line for jet RPT ops so that leaves a truck load of possibilities.

Passengers want choice of schedule on routes not just one flight a day like virgin is doing to coffs. Sure they may expand the market a bit and take some low yield passengers of qantas but the high yield passengers will stay with qantas. The business travellers want to depart early in the morning and arrive late at night, they don't want to factor in overnight accomodation into their plans.
For years qantas operated dash 8's against ansetts 146 and 737 services and made money on the route. Virgin will find out the hard way, that throwing a jet onto a route won't necessarily bring them all the passengers. Dash 8's are the ideal aircraft for the route.
I remember just after ansett announced kendells would be getting RJ's I flew an ansett manager jumpseated on the flight to sydney. he was in Coffs explaining all the changes ansett were making, and he said to us that he was very concerned that Qantas hasn't followed up with an RJ order after ansett announced theirs, and was worried about competing with trhe dash 8's.
He was right to be worried wasn't he.
