In the red corner...

Welcome to South Coast boxing, in the red corner full of goverment backing and a shrewd operator we have (no names mentioned) and in the blue corner we have an ex-goverment service man with a knack of baiting people, the fight is on! But seriously guys can't we all just get along? Good luck to those remaining at the 'gong when all returns to normal. The most important and serious question to ask is what is going to happen to that prime piece of real estate left by SCA? I personally think it would make a damn fine club room for the aeroclub, perhaps with a few planes for private hire only (no training) and good rates, the odd barbie and a place to smoke the peace pipe, or is that a pipe dream?

Engine out and YIPYIO.

Your posts are doing nothing but antogonising the people involved. You may not be starting the arguements but they certainly continue on the back of your comments. Just leave it out for a while.

YIPYIO, your name points directly at one particular person at the airfield and that person is the same person who applied for the same grant that the AAP won. Sour grapes possibly. I do appologise if I'm wrong, directly to you YIPYIO but your user name says it all and implies that your in this to cause trouble. Surely you could have come up with something less antagonising than using the AAP chiefs numberplate from his car??

If you disagree with the way things are done over there then why don't you compete and give the community a better service if at all possible.

I haven't been on the field for a few years and it was going on back then even when PB used to own Wollongong Flt Traing School. It will go on forever unless two people can sort there differences out. You know who you are. Alot of great things are going to happen at YWOL in the future with some big plans. If you lot directed all your efforts into capitalising on these moves then things might be alot better.

As for the main terminal becoming an aero club, you're kidding. What a waste of a good resourse. Leave it as a terminal for executive charter in the future. I do however believe in it being shared ground for all.

I will now sit back and wait for the inevitable onslaught of rubbish from the usual trouble makers.

On a serious note shablaam you do have an interesting point in the terminal usage. I am very keen to see it used by some form of aviation company whether it be flight training, charter, social or even theoretical, however do the council see it this way? They have previously not done much to attract aviation to what could be a good location and have not treated tenants on the field with much respect on numerous occasions. I admit that HARS movement there is a bonus (though I'm waiting to hear reports of the residents complaints), and AVIEX could be good if the correct infrastructure for the day is put in place so the chaos of previous open days is not repeated. The rumour however from the corridors of power is that the council prefers a non-aviated related business in the terminal which is ridiculous. I hope for a flying school to replace the old to keep competition fair, although if a charter organisation who has money to promote itself moves in thats just as good, after all I want to see aviation promoted as much as the next person so there are jobs for all involved (one job per pilot would be a start). My suggestion for the aeroclub to move in was in honestly quite fair, they need a place of there own so not to be classed as one companies aeroclub and be a place for all pilots on the field, not just one companies to get together, share a drink or two and talk aviation and other things without petty arguments and rivalries. I want to see the aeroclub grow into a better non-profit club with benefits for all invovled onthe airport not just a select few, and if not the old part of the terminal then hopefully somewhere on the airport in neutral ground.

Thumbs down Shaablamm

Just so there is no confusion at all, your post confirms you have no idea whatever who I am. You suggest I might have applied for the same grant the AAP won......which grant are you speaking of? There certainly is nothing they have that I have ever applied for nor would.
As to using the managers number place as a handle; guilty as charged however it is only because the name is 'catchy' and somewhat unique whilst he himself seems to be at liberty to use other peoples names too in an effort to project himself as someone other than himself. (don't let the double standards get in the way!)
You might be well advised Mr C****** to direct your venom elsewhere as I had no intention whatever of buying into this thread until you raised your ugly mug and threw your (unwanted) 2 bobs worth in.

I think we all missed something!

Shaablamm,

Why did you have a go at someone who hadn't even posted or are you somehow psychic?

Fair go mate.
