I stopped in at Goroka today, to make a final check of the new VASIS. Anyway, got talking to the local CAA folks. Seems that the water supply to the whole town dried up yesterday. This was apparenltly necessary so that Eda Ranu (the water authority) could make some repairs that would take an indefinite period of time.
It seems that nobody in the town got any advance notice, so everyone was caught without water supplies. And this could well go on for the rest of the week. Good eh?

Raskol Mangi.....
I have much more reason than most to hate the place, and will carry the scars to the grave, yet I do not. The country was beautiful and once you were under it's spell, there was no way it could leave you. I will always remember the good times I had there and the amazing aviation characters. Now I agree that some of the locals left a bunch to be desired, but you sound like a sad character that would never fit in wherever you went. I agree with Chuck....... if we want to remember it with affection, then it is nothing to do with you.
Folks....have a look at www.postcourier.com.pg for the latest on the election debacle. Two dead now. What a bloody shambles.
The edition of the 18th June tells a sorry tale.
