The Shallow Mind Of The Goose!!!
One has to keep in mind that this site is about shallow aviation conversation!
What amuses me is the reactions that come from the spruse goose every time anything is raised about virgin blue!
I am extremely suprised that virgin has not capitalised on the opportunity that they have at the moment, but I guess that comes from the fact that they are not really interested in a capital expansion at the moment !
I am not to sure why this is the fact!
I do not want to see virgin sack crews! Umemployment is not nice!
But please keep the virgin bashing going as the spruse goose's silly replies make me laugh!!!!!
It's good to see teenagers in our industries!
Hang lose spruse, all this is not a personal attack and please remember that virgin blue may not be here forever, they are not the be all and end all of aviation!!!!!

Moderate, Modest & Mild.
This is not a personal attack on you either, toey, and I concur 100% with the title - The Shallow Mind Of The Goose, alternatively you could have named it "Thoughts of a Mental Giant - toecutter."!
Anyway, the spelling has improved somewhat, but you still have a l o n g way to go before you'll be allowed to graduate to Third Grade. We all realise that many consonants sound alike, but how hard is it to copy Sprucie's name? Silly ol' dummy, you!
Next year we'll start to work on your grammar.

Personally I don't think it was a matter of not wanting to capitalise on the demies of Ansett, but it not being prudent to grow faster than it has.
The acquisition of terminals at ANY price could have been fatal, the AN administrators would have charged like wounded bulls if they thought that there was a buyer desperate to buy it regardless of the price.
The acquistion of airframes is going as fast as it possibly and prudently can. Airframes are not, despite popular belief, faling off trees like the autumn leaves, and those that are are not necessarily compatible with the DJ fleet - or require significant investment to make them compatible.
I would have been more worried about my future livelyhood had they immediately bought 50 aeroplanes, hired a squillion new drivers, and flown to all ports immediately.
Think about it - in those ports where QF is the sole carrier - ASP for example, DJ will be knocked down in the rush when they eventually operate there - QF is making a killing in those ports where there is no competition - and who can blame them - this isn't meant to be a QF bash.
I know Sprucie quite well and can tell you that he is a good guy who is loyal to the company that he works for. He isn't "one-eyed" and can see the faults, but, like most of us, is getting a tad tired of people forecasting our demise - and the demise of the livelyhoods of about 1700 odd staff - including upwards of 270 fellow pilots..
