Yup the CV880 would have to have been the equal prettiest only surpassed by the CV990, now that was one sexy beast with those Mae West thingies out there on the wing and goin powerful close to M1.0.
Ah those were the days when men were men and most stuff was overpowered.

Gaunty,
And you could maintain visual contact with a CX CV880 from the old PH TWR almost all the way to Geraldton on a clear day following it's exhaust trail. These day's if a jet is a bit smokey, panic rains from the masses. (Thank the Lord we don't have John Laws. Does this mean RAAF PR need to get his approval every time they do a photo op over SY?)
The RC135 was in Perth overnight mid week, departed for Canberra in the early hours of Thursday, departed 03, so except for the population of Guildford probably wasn't noticed, unlike if it had departed from 21, if was anything like other similar types out of PH. Historic engines.

Thanks, ftrplt, I'm familiar with the aircraft designation but not the antennae on the upper forward airframe. The last ELINT a/c I had anything to do with was in the RAF, and that was LONG before the days of SATCOM.
Kind regards,
TheNightOwl.
