Your right, I jumped a bit early on that bandwagon - I still think we do have a long way to go to get our IQ down that low.........but there are some pretty stupid people out there.

Furthermore - how is ringing up Laws going to help ?

I felt sorry for the Air Force representative, forced to apologise for the stupidity of some individiuals in the population who no longer have the ability to use common sense.

And as a last point......I think Australia should stop kidding itself.....what do we have which is worth blowing up?

[dumb arse typos]

I would have thought Sydney or Melbourne would be more of a target, looking at the latest migration figures from the south to Brisbane. Brissy is the Place to Be....

Simple solution. Move the harbour bridge and the opera house to Williamstown and then we wont have to buy air force calenders showing 'Lemmings Incorporated' on their mobile phones screaming down the line to John Laws. How come he didnt know about this. I thought he knew everything.

'Wait John. its TURNING, its TURNING!'.

I was sure there would already be a photo or two of these aircraft around. In fact I have one on my screen saver. I will send that to the RAAF so they can identify it!!!

If they are going to bull!@$% to us they could at least ,make it believable.

It is near the end of the financial year I guess. Can't have any $$ left over.

ps RAT we have something they envy. Freedom

MEDIA RELEASE - INTENDED AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS OVER PERTH

!perhaps we will need something like this in future

Notice is hereby given that during the course of this weekend a number of light aircraft will be carrying out manoeuvres in close proximity to the Perth CBD.

These aircraft will be operating at altitudes of between 1500 and 2000 feet and will appear perilously close to tall buildings. Furthermore it is possible that more than one aircraft will be operating in the same area at the same time.

Members of the public should not panic but should remain rational, calm and avoid the temptation to hear their voices on talkback radio.

J.L always has and always will be a prat

Latest rumour (from none other than the triple m rumour mill, so it must be true!!) is that this was all a set up. Apparently the defence force wanted to find out how Sydney-siders would react to the possibility of a perceived terrorist threat, ie. what would people do and who would they call.

Thanks for those and no wonder they drew attention, they look like the original JT8s ? on the pods and would have made a fair bit of noise.?

Ah all that black smoke noise on what is still one of the prettiest aircraft built.

Does anyone know the functions of the multiple antennae on the aircraft spine, especially the large, black one?

Kind regards,

TheNightOwl.

Woomera, that picture would have looked much better had they operated a Convair 880! Any comments KIFIS?
