Question Virgin Interview

Just wondering if anyone out there in "PPRUNE" land has recently completed the Virgin Blue Interview process. If you have it would be very much appreciated if you could share any info on the interview. How many people was it conducted by and who where they. Was it a technical interview or more of a personal type one. Was there anything in particular that they brought up??? Any information at all would be great. Thanks!!!

2XL, it's full steam ahead in the recruitment department. Interviews are happening. Just hope the bosses announce which fleet they're going to have soon. ie Boeing or Airbus.

Strange question maybe, but does anyone have an e-mail contact for DJ pilot recruitment in Bris? Not the HR dept, but the actualy pilot recruitment officer or a pilot involved in pilot recruitment?

If you don't want to post it here feel free to email me.

cheers

Would anyone know if the company that the VB guys do their
737NG rating would do a abbreviated course if you already had
a B777 rating.

T53C yes let me rephrase my comment. There is already a truckload of suitable applicants on the books so I gather they are working their way through the list before looking at more new applications.

E.P. that shoots my theory down in flames so good luck to all.

Question remains will new pilots be doing a Boeing or Airbus type rating ? Interesting times ahead.

Cool

I believe Boeing slightly ahead, however if Airbus cover the training they win. All will be revealed soon.

Todays Fin Review, VB to get A300 and 146 freighters.

At this stage troops are still advised to purchase a 737 endorse'.

It also help greatly if you know someone that will vouch for you in virgin blue!
I know of at least 15 ex ansett pilots getting employed ( not the guys from the dispute), these guys are all 73 endorsed obviously with sh3t loads of time and will all most likely get their commands very soon too. At least 4 good friends of mine were interviewed 2 weeks ago after another good mate vouched for them and guess what, they are all in and off to do their 737 training. Another little piece of goss.......... Up in the land of brushwing tails and 7.5 million chinese, oh yeah and the recruitment ban........ there is a one year booking in the 737 ng simulator for virgin blue airlines to train their newer pilots onto the NG. My mate was here last week and there are more coming up next week.
But hey if they get airbusses then don't fret coz cathay has a good company up in honkers called GECAT that apart from having a 737 NG sim also has a GECAT A320 family sim too.
Just keep hounding them and try to contact anyone you know in DJ to step up for you and you might get a job.

Anyone in Virgin like to comment on whether they are going to get an A300 and 146 freighter?

EP, what exactly did the Fin Review say about this topic?

Cheers

So, how soon are people being told to get their B737 endorsement after being told that they are sucessful? Is there a 'hold pool' a-la QF? Fine details please.

As soon as they phone you to let you know you've got the job, the next sentence is something like " Get the 737-400 type rating asap, let us know when you'll be getting back from the USA and we'll book the sim. check". Most are doing the sim. check and then are sent straight to Seattle to do the NG course{at DJs expense}. Often the first actual line flight is on the NG. Enough to make the head spin!!!!
