Unknown PNG Airstrips? Part the Twooth
Grandpa Aerotart
Thanks Wombera
I think the part of the 1st thread that was so nice for Ozexpat is that it was all about how much fun GA can be........contributed to by a bunch of us that just enjoyed the hell out of our time in GA, and hopefully showed the newbies around the Pprune world that real aviation is not dead.......despite the best efforts of some who shall remain nameless.
Chuck.

Yeh Chuck... real bloody silly of me to mention the number of posts. Me an me BIG bloodey mouth! Anyway, our good mate Woomera had did the right thing by us and opened Part 2 hisself! Thanks for that mate!
If memory serves me right, there's a pic of Kabwum somewhere among the lurch collection on me FotoTime site.
And that brings up another interesting point... first there was me, then there was Veg and now everyone has got into the act. Methinks FotoTime is doing well outta me - and I ain't even getting a bloodey spotters fee...
Anyway, let the merriment roll on. Anyone feel that they want me to repost the URLs for all me pics from the years 1984 - 1991? No, thought not...

Last saw Jo Bamba at the Paradise Club re-union at the Irish Club in Brisbane last time I went...about 5 years ago I think, but it was as we were leaving and I wasn't in good shape for a sensible conversation so didn't find out what she is up to.

I don't know if people are getting sick of looking at my old photo's but I will post these and check out the response at fototime.
These 5 are views from the cockpit just prior to takeoff which show what is confronting you.
I am also compiling an album which will be available shortly.
I hope you enjoy them.

These pics were in the old thread and judging by the number of hits at fototime were popular so thought I would repost how not to land an aeroplane again.
Ouch!
And for those that missed it this is a repost of the story.
Cedricks store was running low on supplies so late in the arvo he says hurry. So hurry I did. In to NAM and off we go.
Unfortunately on arrival at Lowai it was p!ssing down.
Decided to wait until it had passed then made the approach.
I did not think about rain water running downhill and literally landed in a river.
Brakes don't work so the last resort is a ground loop.
Shame the grass strip turned to rock after 300 degrees of rotation.
The piccies show the result.
The funny thing is I had a local sitting in the rh seat who grabbed the controls as it all turned to sh!t. As we exited with him going bush at a rapid rate, I told the onlookers that HE had caused the prang and I was demanding paybacK.
Poor b@stard was not seen again for 4 weeks for fear of payment. He only returned when we let it be known that he was "forgiven".

Speaking of Cedric reminds me of another Trade store legend Brian(Brown)Heaghny(Good morning!)
Is the old buggah still around?
I was foolish enough to go to one of his birthday parties at Kagamuga.
To this day I have never again seen a bath tub of ice chocka full of Johny Walker bottles.
