Thumbs down Former ZL chief at QF

Just heard a story that people at ZL have known of for some time. What's the story at QF when they can employ the former ZL 'chief pilot' (what a joke he was there). Don't they check references there?
(Some will say not because they didn't check the references of a lot of Australian management when that airline was heading down in the late 80's. and then proceeded to turn up in Sydney to run QF)

This is the same guy that Dick Smith wanted thrown out of Australian aviation. Dixon, Forsyth and Jensen better move before he causes major damage there.

Oh no.....

If Dick Smith wanted him thrown out of aviation he must be bad!

I don't know the guy from a bar of soap, but I'd say you might have to come up with something better than Dick Smiths opinion before you become convincing.

If anything a glowing endorsement from Dicky would cast a shadow over you as far as I'm concerned.

Yeeouch....

hit sumpin there!

I'll reiterate...I do not know this guy, he may be good, he may be an absolute w@nker for all I care. I just hardly see a testimonial from the esteemed Mr Smith as credible evidence of his inherent evil.

I'm just cautious of anyone who Dick thinks is credible, you've just got to look at his little shenanigans in times past to decide whether you'd like him as a character referee. I know I sure as hell wouldn't.

Chill a bit, eh......

P.S. Thanks for the life tip, though does it apply to all my personalities??

Question

LD

That's hardly news - he's been in QF for years.

The word is that he does a good job in QF, non flying BTW.

At ZL he also did a good job for the airline, helping to bring them out of the GA mode into RPT. Plenty of resistance in some areas of ZL at the time so I hear!!!

I think I know who you mean, and if Dick Smith doesn't like him, then that is as good a recommendation as you can get - he must be a good bloke!!

Cool

Although I don't know the subject of the thread from a bar of soap, I've got to agree with Lakov and DHDriver. Having served under Electronic Dick when he was the Chairman of CAA and it''s various mutations, and put up with his rantings about airspace and ATC, anyone he slags has got to be a good guy. (What's he got on Minister Anderson, or does the latter just give in to shut ED up?)

Cool

I'm pretty sure that you are referring to the ZL CP of some years past??? I worked under this CP as a line driver and found that he did an excellent job as CP - as stated above brought them out of GA, instigated some great procedures which are still used to my knowledge to the extent that CASA told KD that they should do the same. Suggest thread starter may have had a personal conflict???
