Cool Virgin Blue - FRONT DOOR / BACK DOOR ENTRY

Has anyone got into Virgin Blue in the last 6 Months – VIA the front door with no Virgin Mate back door assistance?

Not that it’s a bad thing cause if I was there I’d be trying to get my mates in as well …….BUT!! when you don’t really know anyone well enough on the inside and you’ve spent the last 18 months writing and up-dating Pilot Staff CV with “no joy” you start to lose hope.

Thanks Bengwa Pilot.

I find it quite interesting that Richard Branston with his commitment towards providing Australians with a competitive airline industry has allowed a most uncompetitive recruiting culture to emerge within Virgin Blue.

Time for a quick whinge.
I've got a Command type rating on all of the 737's ('Cept the -700/800, but that's a small bridging rating anyway), plenty of jet time, plenty of command time, plenty of multi-crew time, plenty of Aussie time, etc.
Can't even get an interview.
What do you have to do???

It is true that many(I wouldnt say most), are getting in due to recomendations from friends inside the airline, but there are many that are being chosen straight from Staff CV. I know a guy who has an interview within the next few weeks that has not been recomended from anyone and just had his resume like everyone else on Staff CV. 18 Wheeler you would have been the type of pilot VB were looking for 12 months ago but they dont need to recruit jet pilots over piston/turbine guys now as the company has a good depth of experience. Because you have time on 733,4 doesnt make you more attractive to the recruiters. Everyone is on an even keel with them GA,Regionals etc.. they are taking pilots from all different areas.
Best of luck.
