any chance
Hi there
I'm currently residing in the UK but am thinking of a move back to NZ.
I hold a PPL and was thinking about going the whole hog, whats the long term chances of gaining employment. I know it's bleak at the moment. I could gain my JAA licence here in the UK and fork out £40000 but I would like to return to NZ or OZ eventually and I don't know how much the JAA licence would stand me in terms of getting a job, especially with all the converting etc.
Any helpful suggestions would be much appreciated.

Kezza:
I assume your presence in the UK means you are lucky enough to have residency there.
I know of a couple of guys who did their training up to CPL/IR/IRC level, then gained a lttle experiance here (few hundred hours) and have returned to the UK and completed the UK ATPL. They now have or are about to have positions in the el cheapo's in the UK.
Dunno how realistic this is now but training in NZ or OZ but 40,000 quid goes a lot furture here.
