CASA database shows 26 C208's on the register, that should do it.

nasa. My old mate M - M - M - M.....o! I haven't heard from him for years. Give him my regards.

Harvey. I wondered when you would surface in this debate! Must give you a call on the 1800 number sometime for a natter.

nasa. The UK mod kit bits always were available and can be retrofitted. Fit them and you still have a US FAA certified aircraft. I've been down this track a number of times. It's not the UK mod bits - it's the UK Type Certificate you can't get hold of. It's not an EO or an STC.

Read my lips - it's the type certification the aircraft leaves the factory with that counts.

Having said that, I have heard a rumour Cessna put a US FAA C208B back down the production line and brought it out with a UK Certificate. But it's only a rumour.

I note you questioned Bean on his 14 seat approval for a US FAA certified C208B. That relates to local certification in country of operation - a number of countries have approved C208's and US certified C208B's to operate with 14 seats, including PNG I think.

NASA -

It is my understanding that the OK CAA Kit CANNOT be retrofitted to a van, must come out of the factory with the UK CAA Kit. Then again I may be wrong.

If you could retrofit the Kit look how many 208's would all of a sudden look attractive...

There is one 208 operating in NZ. Soundsair in Wellington fly across Cook Staight to Picton. Its operates under the NZ SEIFR rule which seems better then the rules they have in OZ.
One pilot 14 pax and no UK Kit what ever that is and I'm sure its no help. Dont need weather radar or GPWS and no restriction on hieght over water. Must have a proceedure in the route guide for each airport in case of an engine failure during take off and landing. The NZ CAA have done a good job and used some common sense. Just how it should be.
