I believe they have stopped operating....or at least to the Solomon Islands anyway. I know the guy who started the company and then subsequently sold the aircraft when things started looking not so good. I think the aircraft is still sitting up at Cairns though.
In hindsight I think the Convair wasn't quite the right aircraft for operating into and out of the Solomons, especially Gizo.

King Solomon Airlines Convair was purchased by Air Chathams, originally to provide spares for their own Convair - but ended up in service due to major maintenance being required on CIB.
Since then both Convairs have been put into operation with Air Chathams, KSA being "wet leased" by Pionair to provide tourist charter travel around the country.
