Cool The waterfowl strikes back...

Now now lads..."on the dog?" Surely you Tower types can't see in the dark?

I'm on the dog too...only we have traffic to talk to...

Sequencing? Oh sorry, I forgot..."extend downwind til advised". and "hold at the holding point you are number...to depart"
We poor area types don't get the option to stop them if it all gets a bit hard.
I guess the use of indicated airspeeds doesn't work when they are all doing 65 knots

Now you "industrial thugs" take another pill and try to get that 17% pay rise you have been striking for!!

Now get back to some good old fashioned west vs east baiting....much more fun than fencing with an unarmed opponent!

Poor ol' Freedom

We stopped using the clicker for stats once we traded the abacus for a blackboard and chalk! We use strips that are sent to the bean counters in the magical east, they wave a wand, and the stats magically appear somewhere!

And movements have nothing to do with hours? mmm, thats a good one, as the stats are ONLY based on tower hours OPEN. Now, lets look at that, take total movements, divide by tower open hours, equals ... Now, if we change the hours, divide that in, .. difference answer.. I still suggest Capcom's abacus is ******ed, must have some stuck beads

And just a quick check of all posts, nope, no reference to being busiest workers in Oz (even tho you and I know we are ;-). Every position (radar, enroute, Pri tower, GAAP tower) are unique positions with own complexities. There are different skills required for inserting cerapax depending on what ya doin. GAAP guys insert their cerapax with both hands tied behind said backs, because it is usually inserted by the decision makers while they have both hands on ya shoulders!

And yo Capcom,
Seem ta think there are 10 work the BK tower, while until DEC was only 7 at JT.

And like all Sandgropers, I have 6 fingers, 3 thumbs and 7 toes. We count in hexdecimal, much easier to grasp

Anyway, my mum's a firey sort of old girl, whose on the west coast of heaven, who reakons the angels work harder on that side, so she can defend me against ya mum on the east coast (I assume)

Whether ya in JT, BK, MB, etc, the guys at GAAPS must have gaps in their heads, as they all herd lots of bug smashers in small spaces for long periods for ****** all scheckels at the end of the day

At least I get back ta the big tower in a few weeks....

Smile Return of the Jedi.............

Drowning goose

Can you see in the dark?? Drowning feathers can't see much at all in dark swampy AACC me thinks. Try using radar, we do. One day you may see the light.......

"Sequencing" I will wait for Obi won Capcom to address your pity . By the way, heard of holding?. But I suppose that having 10-30 acft on freq is generally easier to handle and separate in airspace larger than 3-15 nm's. Think of all that time to think.....

"Industrial thugs"??? what inference? Your wires crossed obviously. You must not share the opionion of the work force. Not in the association?, Definetly dark side material.

Moby Moby Moby....

As quoted "one push of the PTT and instant stat". NOT the clicker, maybe the sun has effected your eyesight for reading

You really have a problem with this calculations dribble. May your skills at math be better served with the Death Star in Canberra. Please don't join the Dark Side. As you state "skills", lets concentrate on what WE are good at.

Moby, Capcom and other Tower "rebellion" forces (sorry "industrial thugs"), lets forget the east vs west "baiting" and arm x-wing in battle to return waterfowl from instant death

Wink Feel the force

Mercury capsule…..

In point of fact, those of us on the dark side of the moon also use radar…unfortunately we have to mix it liberally with procedural control aussi.

Holding? That’s where the punters go round and round while you sip coffee isn’t it?
Anyway, when was the last time 10-30 were in patterns? (other than contra rotating circuits) Just wondering?
Mach number technique and RVSM don’t work there?
Remember what the good book once said, “speed control is no substitute for good vectoring technique”
Aahhh, I dream of only having 30 on frequency at once….

“Industrial thugs” quote lifted directly from media sources…methinks you should get Princess Ted to indulge in a hearts and minds campaign, or the dark knights of the Death Star may yet win the day.
I am indeed a member of coco…or as the other side calls it, “your insignificant little rebellion”, but on who’s side???

As the great-white-whale-from-the-west said …much more ably than I, every sector, tower etc has it’s own problems and complexities, those from the West just happen to be greater than the eastern brethren…or sisteren in most Tower cases…actually we Area types think of them more as Ewoks or Gungens than anything else.

I wait with bated breath for the next instalment of… “Revenge of the Ewoks”

Tower baiting....does life get any better than this?

Talking X-Wing fueled, melons loaded.......

duck diver,

"Thou must seek Yoda the great one to search ones soul........"

Not just the patterns but ye forget due to closed wall syndrome, mix jets, props, bugsmashers, acft on ground, bays, cars, tugs, busted RWYs/taxiways, bad WX, wind, TAAATS strips, paper strips, radar, procedural, AEPs, APP, QF 767 drivers etc etc and you have to ask the question - do you know why you hold????

West group maybe ?? Then I will discuss sep stnds and yes that X

Sorry i did not realise that the western states are busier than the "other" side, must be very difficult?!?, but really not an issue from the Mercury seat.

"Princess Ted" may well prevail into "The Great White Knight" and you will be thankfull.

Area types, in the begining we where all there once.

Once down the dark path there may be no return...............

Cheers

Cool

Daffy (Alias- Cannon Fodder!)
The waterfowl strikes back...

If that’s a Strike back, You’re a peanut!!

There is interesting stuff to report (Stay tuner for Indiana V’s RAPAC update) however I can’t resist one last Dig:-

In your case I assume the “Dog and Traffic” reference is literal not ATS related!

Yeh! You “Area” types can’t stop them, in fact we catch them and only hold others when we got’a sort your stuff ups!

You assume I work in GAAP!! Keep Guessing!!
Not withstanding, BK has a regular G1V, HS748 and others!
I would like to see them attempt 65kts!!

17%- WHAT!?! – Last time I checked we were all from the same profession!

18months of increase’s unpaid, the rest is CPI parity!
“Industrial Thug’s”- No,
keep up now:-
No other option!!!!

Me thinks you be a Dill or a Fake!!!

Who is unarmed?? Only you by the sounds of it!!
I’m Itch’n for the fight…Bring it OOOONNNN! (Airspace and Indiana I refer!)

I’m tired of pissing about with “Armageddon in a three piece suit”! (The EBA I refer!)
They either be reasonable or explain to the travelling why they are going to miss Aunt Gertude’s 100th!!

WateryFoul again….!!
Feel the force

Remember what the good book once said, “speed control is no substitute for good vectoring technique”
OK So are you ever going to open the book on Vectoring???
Aahhh, I dream of only having 30 on frequency at once….
Now you have really lost it!
I wait with bated breath for the next instalment of… “Revenge of the Ewoks”

Tower baiting....does life get any better than this?
WateryFoul- I have been there and done that!, as have most Tower Controllers, when the novelty wares off battery hen Lane,
Come and try Real Separation!!

Moby

Yep! and of that 10, 5 are ambidextrous (CN) No more “CN only” staff left!
Thus the Abacus does not lie!!
Anyway, my mum's a firey sort of old girl, whose on the west coast of heaven, who reckons the angels work harder on that side, so she can defend me against ya mum on the east coast (I assume)
You Ain’t seen my Ol’ Cheese in Fatigue’s and Pack’in Heat!!

Whether ya in JT, BK, MB, etc, the guys at GAAPS must have gaps in their heads, as they all herd lots of bug smashers in small spaces for long periods for ****** all scheckels at the end of the day
Your dead right, GAAP are not the only Towers being payed in scheckels!!

Thumbs down

Enough.

I'm sure you will claim it's all tongue in cheek, but it may pay all of you to realise that this childish posturing is taking place in front of an audience encompassing the whole of Australian aviation, including a lot of people desperate for a job of some sort, any sort. I suggest the protagonists in this waste of bandwidth sort it out in the pub where it belongs.

Every ATC in Australia is extremely well paid, and this embarrassing "my dick is bigger than yours" dialogue does none of you any credit. Grow up.

Wink grow up, down... flying around......

the dark side looms once again.....

well said binos, you have just created the line in the middle for the "Australian public"

it has nothing to do with pay, dicks etc but healthy rivalry which exists in EVERY industry. In the end it only needs a drink in the pub and the shake of hands.

"if you can't take a joke, you should not have joined"

may the games continue......

Capcom,

I gather you work on Syd App or Syd Twr
I have never seen an invincible controller.. I have dished up crap to approach but have received it from departures..what goes around comes around..everyone has bad days.

Indeed every piece of airspace has its complexities but I can testify that Australian traffic has nothing on the rest of the world, get a bit of world experience before blowing your trumpets.. I have seen one sector ( Enroute ) that has more traffic through it than Syd and Bn combined and if you would like I can email you the figures...

It hurts me to back you up Duck (joking)

Unhappy full of remorse....

Chaps,

a bit of harmless fun, banter if you will, to be taken with a liberal pinch of salt both ways.

Much enjoyable, but if it ofends thee.....etc.

I feel far more entertaining than the usual us vs them of pre and post 1989....at no stage did it descend into malicious attacks, merely witty repartee (at least I thought so).

The "maverick" was correct in his observation...I don't work in Oz anymore, but am still a member of the assosciation, and am very interested to see that my former collegues are getting a fair go from management.

ps Capcom....30 on freq here is a quiet night.....and we also get the mix of everything the Boeings and Airbuses fly plus all the exotic military hardware and a liberal sprinkling of Russian types

cheers all

divingduck,

good to see the colour of your light sabre. I share your sentiments. You have explained all and now understand.

Notwithstanding some areas of traffic here I have seen figures for the traffic "over there" and I send a salute to you

Coming home soon???

All the best and Cheers.

ps Transition Layer, do you believe your question has been suffuciently answered???

Yesterday JT could have been buisier with two ATCO's short
Today it is quieter with two ATCO's too many
