Unhappy Blaming the Clouds

I don't know whether it's just another "media story", but it seems that at least in Iran, one can blame the clouds for aircraft accidents.... . [quote] Posted: Wed, 13 Feb 2002 8:30 AEDT. .Source - ABC. .Cloud cover blamed for fatal Iranian plane crash. .Investigators in Iran say they believe low clouds may have caused an Iranian airliner carrying 117 people to crash into a mountain while trying to land in the country's west, killing all aboard.

The Russian-built Tupolev 154 was flying from the capital Tehran to Khorramabad when it disappeared off radar screens south-west of the city.

Local residents have told the investigators the low clouds and heavily overcast skies may have hampered the aircraft's landing.

Officials say those killed at least two foreigners, but their nationalities are not known.

They say the aircraft was totally destroyed, and remains scattered in small pieces across the mountain.
