Still unconfirmed but looks like there are casualties in the industrial estate as well. My most sincere and heartfelt sympathy to all concerned including the unfortunate people who had to witness this terrible tragedy.

It is NOT the Flying Surgeon aircraft.

The Flying Surgeon utilises CheyenneIII's these days.

Red face

Not Army, Queensland Department of Health personel on board.

This from the ABC news website at 0019Z

Four dead in Qld plane crash
Emergency crews are at the scene of a fiery light plane crash that has killed four people on Queensland's Darling Downs.

The aircraft came down in an industrial area of Toowoomba.

All passengers on the light aircraft have been killed, which is believed to be four people at this stage.

An emotional Queensland Health Minister Wendy Edmond has told state Parliament the plane was carrying staff from her department.

"It is with enormous sadness that I inform the House that there has been a tragic small plane crash this morning with all on board believed dead," she said.

"It's believed that the passengers were Queensland Health staff and I'm sure that all present would join with me in extending our sincere sympathy to them - to their families."

The King Air plane burst into flames on impact after take-off at the Toowoomba airport.

Very little is left of the plane, as it is burnt and smashed.

Fire and police officers are now investigating the crash site.

The plane came down into powerlines and has left more than 5,000 people without power.

My sincere condolances

t303, I can back that up as well from locals. As stated, Eastland Air, C90, 4 POB, and channel nine news just reported that the aircraft was tracking for Goondiwindi. It travels to various places once a month, including Goondiwindi.

Witnesses have said that the failure occured just after lift off, and clipped the lines, coming to rest seemingly upside down from news footage.

The prayers of the industry go out to families, friends and all at Eastland Air.

Heartfelt condolances for all involved and their families. We all stretch far and wide over this country yet it is tragedies like this that remind us we all somehow stem from the same.

Our prayers and thoughts should be with all who perished.

Amen.

I work out of the Qantaslink terminal in Brisbane and have spoken to the Eastland Kingair crews many times over the last few months.

My most sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who perished at Toowoomba.

Yet another terrible and needless tragedy.

I can't remember his first initial but his surname started with J. Apparently has left a wife and 1 child with another on the way.

Cool

Saint Exupery, the Flying Surgeon and Flying Gaencologist contract is held with C90's. There was a Cheyenne which held a Queensland Medivac contract but I don't know if this is still the case.

Kaos, the Army operates only SKA 200's (and possibly 350's) which are civil registered.

4 POB - sounds like a regular Queensland Health, Clinic flight.

Air Ace & others: The Qld Health Flying Surgeon service and Flying Obs/Gyn service was, until July this year, run by Eastland out of Roma and Longreach, using C90s -LQH, -NQH & -SQH. The contract is now run by another company, now using PA42s.

Regards.
