YPJT-CESSNA CRASH
I wont be doing the media thing and start blowing things out of proportions but a light aircraft c152 I think fell short of runway at Jandakot this evening. Pilot is OK. Seems engine trouble forced the premature landing which ended with the aircraft upside down.
Hard to tell but seems like the plane was from a company which has had problems of upside down aircraft before???
Glad the pilot is OK.

No I believe the turbine threw a fan blade and that in turn made the prop go into feather on the left engine. So they dumped fuel all over Perth but ended up dumping a bit much and couldn't make the field. Media clowns.

Moderate, Modest & Mild.
Jandakot residents reported hearing a loud BANG and seeing flames shoot out of the cntre engine, similar to the Concorde crash.
A QANTAS/Virgin Blue/Ansett jet was parked on the apron at Perth airport, however a spokesman for the airline said none of its passengers were under any immediate threat of debris from the stricken Cessna.
Cessna aircraft are manufactured in the USA, the same country where Boeing aircraft are made and the scene of the horrendous September 11 hijackings that claimed 6,000 lives.
Strangely it was also a Cessna aircraft that was flown on an apparent suicide mission by a 15 y.o. student pilot just a week ago, in the United States.
No connection has been established between this latest Cessna aircraft accident at Jandakot, and Osama Bin Laden.

Sorry to dissappoint everybody with all of these great stories, but I was at the airport when it happened so I'll tell you the full story.
It wasn't a duck, it wasn't the left engine. I saw it fly over just before it happened and there was definately lots of black smoke coming out of the number 4 engine.

The OTHER upside down aircraft had too much air in the tanks.
Was the C152 from the same company?
What was the callsign and end result?

Caught a glimpse of the rego today on C9 news. UJE seems to be the one, and it tallies with the AOPA Reg. Search thingamajig. And you'd think THAT company would stop chucking their aircraft into the sand in Perth.
Apparently, C9 are going to do an interview with the student pilot on tonight's 6pm news. Thank goodness s/he is alive to tell the tale. That windshear x-wind on 24L can be a bit of a B'staad in the late summer afternoon. But if it was an engine failure.....?

Owner on the news tonight saying that possibly the fuel was suspect and was checking all other aircraft in his fleet.
Funny, no other aircraft taking fuel from the same tankers had any problems

Are you serious? Actually I didn't get to see the news last night or for that matter any TV until well past 7.30 due to the rather impressive goings-on in the skies above Perth (I'm assuming that was the cause). Did they interview the student and the owner or was the latter the only one interviewed. And AA use the Green Co.'s fuel don't they? Hmmmmmm, can't imagine the RFDS being too happy about that!!

there is no point having a command at 27 years old , when you not going to have a job at 28 .
it's only a bug smasher anyway , it's like being a check and training captain on a cessna 152
VB i thought it was something you drink
