Post Ansett: Heroes and Villains

I know this is yet another Ansett thread, but given that here definitely are some villans at the back of this debacle, the title seemed very appropriate.

And Wirraway, interesting as they undoubtedly are, can you please drop the newspaper clippings and instead give us some original thoughts?

One of the morning AN A320 flights, MEL-BNE, had a fuel docket with Qantas Airways printed on the top. I wonder what really is going to happen? My guess most AN 737's to Virgin and 767's to QF, A320's are all leased so why hang on to them and 146's to go. Splitting the current AN crews could be an interesting exercise. Any other thoughts?

7X7 Why?????

Like me, I'll bet a lot of people around Australia and the world are enjoying the updates by Wirraway. Maybe less opinions and more fact might be better served, not that the media can be relied upon for facts, but it's a damn sight better than preformed biased opinions

I have to side with 7x7 on this. I find that I just skim Wirraway's posts because they're so damned long and there's so many of them. My loss maybe, but that's what I've found.

These must be interesting times for people who made a decision in 1989 based, for some at least, on the supposition that the were going into/going back to a job for life.

Particularly the 'blow ins' from overseas.

I think many of them will get jobs in Asia, despite what people like Tooltime say, but I also think that many of them are going to be very, very surprised at the depth of feeling against them among coleagues out there in the world outside Australia.

Just my opinion.

Well well . It has come to this then ( as predicted in 1989). To all the heros of AN/EWA who ceased to exist in my life after March 1990 what a road you have all travelled. You may have thought that you had won a few battles along the way, the truth has finally dawned on some of you that you have just lost the WAR( Hawkes words) the rest will wake up soon. You shall indeed Reap the fruits of your loyalty. " lack there of "
Its now your turn to leave your families that you "went back for" to keep flying as a job. Thats if you can find another airline dispute in the world to interfere with !

Will the AN heroes become known as "ohwunners"?

I'm sure we're all in for some interesting chance meetings all over the world.
