Post Virgin's unannounced schedule changes for season MAR02-OCT02

Virgin just opened up bookings into October, and by doing random searches, I discovered some minor frequency changes on a number of routes. This info I warn is off the booking page only and may not be entirely accurate (ALL RETURN FLIGHTS, WEEKDAYS - SEARCH MADE FOR FRI 1 FEB AND FRI 8 MAR):

ROUTE / FREQ FEB 02 / FREQ MAR 02 / CHANGE
ADL-BNE: 2 2 0
ADL-MEL 4 5 +1
ADL-PER 1 1 0
ADL-SYD 2 2 0 (??? surely there's demand for 3 or 4?)

BNE-CNS 2 2 0
BNE-CBR 1 1 0
BNE-DRW 1 1 0
BNE-MKY 1 1 0
BNE-MEL 7 6 -1 (interesting...)
BNE-ISA 1* 1* 0
BNE-SYD 8 9 +1
BNE-TSV 2 2 0

CBR-MEL 1 2 +1

OOL-MEL 1 2 +1
OOL-SYD 2 2 0

LST-MEL 2 2 0

MEL-PER 1 1 0
MEL-SYD 9 10 +1
(sorry - can't get this thing to format properly)

From an ADL point of view, it is good to see that ADL-MEL is doing well though I am surprised to see that ADL-SYD remains at 2x a day, especially as it is one route that AN M2 is yet to fly.

MEL-SYD seems to increase all the time, parhaps not surprisingly.

I was interested to see the increase in flights to OOL given the complaints DJ have made about landing fees.

No doubt more destinations, more frequency changes will be announced in the next few months.

When you say "unannounced" schedule changes what do you mean exactly? VB have announced all new destinations and among them frequency changes as well. I don't think an extra daily trip here or there is a real big deal that far away in time. As for SYD-ADL it is most likely a case of not having enough aircraft in the FEB/MAR period to increase that route frequency. It will come with the additional aircraft towards mid year I am sure. Watch for BNE-PER, ADL-DRW and somewhere a drop in to ASP as well.
