2002 QF Cadets
Would be interested to hear who's still in the running for this years cadet thingy.
Rumour has it that there is about 30 Level 1's and 30 Level 2's left in the running, and they are just finishing off the flight tests in order to cull that by about half again.
Anyone out there..........

Dear Hopefulls,
I ran into a F/O friend of mine at sign on yesterday, he told me he has it on very reliable information (from one of your own number) that two of you who happen to LH Captains children are bragging that for yourselves the flight test is a formality - you are 'guaranteed' a slot into charlie Q.
I have both your names and will be passing them on to F/O Robyn Hind - manager pilot recruitment and also to AIPA monday.
I would suggest you all keep your heads down and concentrate on capitalising your opportunity to bypass the yards everyone else has to do in the RAAF and G/A.

Fartsock, do us all a big favour & **** all those very lucky spoilt little turds back to G/A and make them appreciate the opportunity that they have sitting in front of them and make them respect some of hard yards that people have done in the past to be in the same position that they have now.

Boys, better appreiciate the chance you have, and wait untill you start flying before you start gloating otherwise someones gunna shoot you down. Matter of fact don't gloat then either cos we'll still shoot you down, respect the chance you have to shortcut alot of hard yards.
All that said, Padlock - Engage!

I don't know about others, but I have spent the last 18 months in GA, 3500 clicks from my home town where I did my training (self funded by working very menial jobs for 4 years).
I have worked some of the most sh!thouse jobs trying to support myself while I begged for some/any flying jobs. Why wouldn't I apply for the cadetship?
If you want to sit there and slag off on all cadet hopefuls cause a couple of w*nkers think they can waltz straight in due to family connections, then I think that shows a you have a small mind.
This argument gets flogged to death every time a cadet thread comes up. Do you feel that strongly about it that you have to open the thread and make a post to try and stir people up?
And can you tell me in which post we were gloating about already being in? With a 25% pass rate for the flight tests I think we are all far from gloating.

Not sure where you guys are coming from, cause in the above posts there is no mention of gloating merely stating who is still in with a shot. Not sure how that constitutes gloating.
Not one of the above posters have any family working within QF and I for one have no connection what so ever with the company, whether that be personnally or through family/friends.
Now as usual a cadet thread has become subject of much anger and arguement. Cadets courses, believe it or not folks, are now part of the recruitment system. Many airlines worldwide offer such schemes.
Like Jimmy said, the flight test will be no easy task.
I am not about to enter into a debate on justification of cadet courses, so can we please keep this thread on an information basis without any opinionated slander.

Jimmy Pop,
If you have done that for your career then good on you. I wish alot more CADETS would get off their arse and do the same thing.
I wish you well.
But I don't like your chances getting into QF on a cadetship unless you have been tattooed on the arse with the flying kangaroo at birth by a QANTAS DADDY.

Flickroll2, FYI the vast majoritry of the 2001 Cadets were not sons or daughters of a "Qantas Daddy". So I'll take my chances thanks.
BTW I too have worked at low paying jobs to pay for all the flying I have done. If it so happens that I miss out on a Cadetship, I'll be seeing you out there in the big bad world of GA.
