Hey Sniffer Dog,. .. .Big difference this time. The 16000 had no control over what happened wheras you and you alone had control over your own destiny. Still cant get over the fact you shot yourselves in the foot can you. Wake up boy, the AFAP made dills out of the lot of you. At least AN survived until today, had it given in to the claims of 89 no one would have had a job within a few years. Thank God they got rid of the riff raff when they did.

Ute R Us - You do not seem to know what you are talking about. So unless you are trying to incite trouble, please don't offer your supposed, informed tripe!

It appears to me that there are lot of very touchy people out there that see red when "that year" is mentioned.. .. .Maybe you have a guilty concience or whatever but nobody forces you to open the thread.....so if you don't like it or are bored by it...don't look at it!!. .. .One thing is for certain though...it won't go away.

hey speedbrake up, now we have several ex ansett staff members gassing themselves, ask yourself if you were that passionate in 1989???. .. .getitright, you may find that unless you can moderate your tone on this BBS, that your days are numbered. Spare us your profanities and try to offer something constructive.. .. .W.. . . . [ 04 March 2002, 09:05: Message edited by: Woomera ]

Ute R Us - I suspect you are a wind up merchant but shall cut you a bit of slack to enlighten you.. .. .If the Companies had gone along with the AFAP in 1989, they would have been the biggest cash cows imaginable with well over 16,000 happy, contented employees ALL doing their best for their respective airline.. .. ........and no Air N.Z or Virgin Blue.. .. .Pity about that isn't it!

Hey Wiz.....I know it's hot up there in Leonora but don't let it get to you. Slide down to "The White House" for a cold ale and things will look better

I'm with the Wiz on this one. I'm fast growing tired of this 89 business.. .. .My father fought against Germany and Japan in several theatres of the 2nd world war. He saw many friends killed, and untold atrocities committed against the allied forces, as well as civilians. . .. .After WW2 he went to Hiroshima as part of the Occupation Forces and saw and photographed some shocking and sickening scenes.. .. .But, he got over it. He bears no malice towards his former enemies.. .. .A lesson many on this BBS could learn from...... .. .Get over it.

To Wiz,. . Might have been a different story from you and Dad if the Japanese had won!! And they had invaded Aus and you had personally lost house , and family. It's easy to be magnanimous when you win.

My point was that it is over and get over it....and there are people out there that have been through far worse and got over it so why cant these guys. . .my first point, actually, was for these unhappy souls to stop hijacking threads and starting a thread about 89 and putting a heading on it that doesnt have 89 writen all over it because it would save me a bunch of time not having to open it and find its another one of those threads.. .I certainly have lost close friends and suffered personal loss because of some bad and misguided decisions by others......but I dont harp on about them every time I get on a public board.. .and as for being magne......mangna......megna, oh you know, that bloody big M word you used, well I is only a pilote and carnt hardly saye that woid, as for nowing wot it meens.....well gosh.

ICURA?, as far as I'm concerned, Wiley's post (to which you drew my attention) says very little that relates to 1989 (apart from the thinly veiled analogy of officers selling out the enlisted men to the Japanese), or as many readers of PPRune can see, a cheap 'scab' analogy.. .. .The majority of readers are getting increasingly sick of the same old story. I used to have some sympathy for the so called 89ers, but that is wearing thin.. .. .I think it's time for people to get over 1989, before you lose what cred you have left.. . . . [ 04 March 2002, 10:36: Message edited by: Hugh Jarse ]
