Question Cessna Bird Strike Nanango

I caught the end of a news segment last night, reporting that a cessna on a training flight from Archerfield made an emergency landing in a paddock near Nanango after hitting an eagle. I hope all on board are safe and well. Does anyone have anymore information?

A wedgetail eagle will do a lot of damage, even if it does not throught the windscreen.

I hope all are OK

The student pilot walked away with a bump on the nose and a great story to tell his children. The eagle hit the windscreen area and did enough damage to create too much drag to stay airborne. The pilot chose the only available clearing and managed to get the plane down and pulled up in the space at his disposal. Final score - plane-0, eagle-0, pilot-the winner(thankfully).

Thought that was my handle...RAVAN??
Investigation required here I think.

Now you all know why low speed controllability checks should be done if time permits.

Thumbs up

From what I know, the eagle actually entered the cabin through the windscreen injuring the pilot.

It was his first solo nav and all was going well until he met his unexpected visitor face to face.

Got the aircraft down and kept himself safe!!

WELL DONE!!!

Cheers
