I'm trying to hold back...arghhh..

Stuff it.

Karunch, you (mis)informed tosser. Check the facts. Tell us exactly who handled the 'contract negotiations' and how many of those got jobs? More likely the opposite effect.

While the pilots (who are informing??!!) you were cowering in the dark, not wanting to stick their heads up or voice their opinions, certain APA reps jeopardised their positions by standing toe to toe with FLEW's lawyers and refusing to budge. At least one of these guys was NOT selected.

The initial proposal from the FLEW camp was the Virgin contract - if you are so informed you will know that the AN Mark 2 one is a damned sight better. Base meetings were conducted with the pilots and the proposition was put that we stand shoulder to shoulder and reject the contract. The response was silence, followed closely by laughter. All of the pilots in the room knew that most of their colleagues would accept any contract offered - there would be NO solidarity.

BTW where did you get the 'informed' figure of a 30% cut? It's easy to crap on here, isn't it?

Oh, also, SIX APA reps got jobs out of a committee of 22, and that includes the only A320 pilot. Pretty good at looking after themselves, aren't they?

Call Button,
When the facts do not fit their purpose they go into denial. They would rather propagate their fantasies than face up to reality. That has been demonstrated many times before.

I am informed that the pilot involved in the parking bay incident departed many years ago so it is not likely that he got in is it? As to the actual incident it is not clear that it was as portrayed above. The aircraft was brought to a stop before impact with the terminal. It is possible that the brakes had been set and had been released on advice from ground before chocks were in place. Bay 10 has significant slope so that would result in movement if chocks were not in position.

Maybe you should check your "facts" before committing to print in such an unswerving manner.

Just consider who your audience may be.

Can anyone say how many blow-in Americans, Canadians, Brits, Zimbabweans – sorry, "New Australians" – got the nod to join AN Mark whateveritis?

Settle down bgt.

I would also be interested to know how many original migrants were given preference in the Ansett culling.

Question

What difference will it make whiskery? Honestly
these threads always end up the same. EMAIL Kaptin M .He will have a completed list of who got what It is his obsession and good luck to him .By now you would know enough people in the game to track most info you want about other people. He has Ansett contacts. The one imput you wont get here is an impartial Ansett pilot .
Most of them ,that I know ,dont bother with pprune any more BECAUSE OF THESE TYPE OF THREADS. If you have a job flying and you really enjoy it why persue the same politics day in day out. Live for the thrill of the job. Love the flying and celebrate your good fortune and skills, we only have this privelage for such a short time .
I sincerely feel sorry for any aviator that has had his wings clipped. I have no time for anyone that celebrates any pilot having his wings clipped.
HELL WHERE DOES IT FINISH.If Virgin go tits up Do you then expect ANSETT TO REJECT 89ERS from their Airline if it triples its size???.This is quite a possible senario. Some say a likely situation.
It is all becoming repetitious and Very immature.I am sure we as intelligent individuals we can find something constructive to enlighten each other with.
I recently watched the slow passing away of a true aviator 15000 ga hours .One thing he did remark on was the calibre of certain fellow aviators on this forum. He was dead right to.We dont know what a wonderful life we have and for many it is to late to enjoy it when you do become aware.
THIS IS A PILOT RUMOUR NETWORK why does it have to be a courtroom. Lighten up and enjoy...
CHEERS (I feel better now.)
HAPPY NEW YEAR.

As bgt says, this is a rumour network; and also, I hope, an information source.

So, after he's had his nervy, (why, I can't understand – the question that set him off is after all, a straightforward, reasonable question, I would have thought), how many of the migrants did get the nod?

SPAD;If it eases your suffering a little,I can tell you after thinking long and hard about your question and looking at my limited list I've come to the conclusion that none faced the firing squad. Some however have chosen to give the game away others have gone overseas.

Makes little difference to us Auzzies at Ansett, these guys are treated everyday like everyone else, most are a pleasure to work (as are MOST of the Aussies) with and do the job as good as anyone else.

.......... as good as, time for the padlock.
