Ansett Air Cargo Future
After reading the Ansett website pertaining to the charters etc for the ADF with the 146's, does anyone in the know, know if the Ansett Air Cargo side of things is going to get big in 2002? And having an owner in the trucking linehaul scheme of things, developing a close relationship between the two companies?
It seems like AAE is laughing all the way to the bank at the moment. It'd be nice to see a bit more competition in this area also.

You've got to remember, Ansett HAD a trucking bloke running the shop before & look what happened!!
I agree though, AAE are making a killing, besides, how stupid must you be to lose money from freight!!!

AAE (QF) moved in on Ansett freight 2 weeks after AN went into receivership. They have employed some ex-AN staff (freight dept.) and Air Cargo Australia have employed ex Ansett 727 drivers (F/Os) for the expanded operations. Making a "killing" is an understatement.

Just received some interesting info from an Australian AIR Express manager that they now believe the Sydney curfew will be the critical AN Cargo problem. There is APPARENTLY another AN 146 freighter in NZ being serviced as we speak for this purpose ,destined to fly for AN aircargo..
Supposed to be back in Aus for a FEB startup. (If there are any AN146 drivers still current of course )
Perhaps someone from NZ could verify if this aircraft is actually airworthy (exists) ?
Has anyone in Cargo heard anything about this impending rebirth ?.
I guess it makes some sense as FOX would be good at the ground handling end.
Hope this is true.It would mean more jobs.
