Predictions
Yea gidday
for what its worth i reckon that in the next 4 months we will start to see movement within the industry again, by may 2002.
how - you may ask? i really don't know i just have this feeling.
anyway, when the movement starts it won't be big and fast as it was but a few lucky pilots from here there and everywhere will start getting phone calls.
after sept 11 i think the worst is over and the next few months will start to improve. most companies have reached the bottom of the market and now the recovery is starting to sink in, it will still take a while to get going but its happening.
well thats my two cents worth

Heard a rumour that more pilots are needed by Origin Pacific in NZ.
That would be good for the average GA pilot who in forever waiting in the wings to get a look in.
Anyway back to the fornicating

Spinout, i wasn't having a go at you maybe some crossed wires. . .I was making the point that I also had a feeling there may be a "movement" soon within the industry. feeton caught on.
Hence if you rolled over with that feeling you may be write in the poo so to speak and miss out on the next job that may come along.

Hi guys,. .I was forced out of Australia a few years ago when. .the original 'Australian Airlines' was swallowed up by Qantas, and have been flying for contract airlines ever since, for the last few years, since '95, it's been B747 Classics, operating all over the world, as our contracts dictate.. .I was operating for Air France, just departing for Cairo when news of 9/11 broke, my job lasted about two weeks after that.
I've just returned to work because of the Hajj, but as the days go past, I hear of more work coming up in the near future, the gloomy outlooks of the past few months seem to be changing for us, and if that is so, so then the aviation world is recovering, slowly, because we deal with the world scene, not just any one area.. .Just my impression,. .Seeya!

I have the same feeling. 9/11 has not killed the need for mail to be delivered to the outback, for business charter, for air travel in general. Passesnger numbers are improving in airlines and are now (apparently) only 10% below 9/11 levels in most airlines. Add that to the pilot shortage that was forecast mid last year (that demand would outsrip supply in Asia) and I'm hoping that all will eventually be better for us. I'm banking on it....otherwise i wont be able to eat!!
