Angry More Space Junk?

There could be some debri in some airspace near you tommorrow night!

If you are flying tomorrow night, you may be in for a light show.

NASA is warning a 3,000 kilogram spacecraft will re-enter the earth's atmosphere tomorrow, possibly scattering debris on Australia.

Cool

I just spent part of my holidays clearing a large fallen tree out of my backyard. The last thing I need is 3 tonnes of titanium in its place. The old chainsaw might not hack it!

Does the aviation fraternity get advised by the beloved authority about these 'incursions' or is the media the usual source?

Well geez... that didn't miss Oztralia by much, now did it! Wonder how NASA makes it's predictions these days? Still, maybe sprocket has just missed a golden opportunity to sell some titanium mining rights?

sheesh, some emergency services personnel in Darwin ie NT were notified after the blasted thing has "landed".

And it missed by a 1/2 world margin, not the 3000 km they quoted us!

NASA - Need Another Scientist Again!

Unhappy

So, if I'm reading all this correctly, NASA is happily claiming that this thing came down within a gnats nut of Australia?
