Loco's Smoko, I copy from my post in another thread.. ."You don't seem to understand the statements from the administrator. Let me help you a bit. Without the Fox/Lew bid, there would have been nothing for the creditors (non-employees) in September, in December, yesterday, or next month. It is therefore really a no brainer about the $30Million. You MAYBE get something or you get nothing. Your choice."

Loco you will have to reproduce the article that said they will have 30 A-320s by Feb 1st,thats the first time I've heard that.. .With only enough crews to keep 16 buses airborne it would seem Quite impracticable to have 30 available from day 1.I believe the forcast is for training to contine through to the early months of 2003.

Media focusing on an inevitale hiccups, sensationalism the degree of.

Yes,there is a small chance it won`t go through but Fox/Lew& the other investors are past their PNR.

Like last weeks posts of thousands of frequent flyers hijacking the sale, just drivel by antiAN PPruners.

Cool

Okle and Duck Muck are you employees or creditors?, From a previous post of mine,

Sorry Guys, I have to agree with Zoolander on this one. I am also waiting for my payout. Everyday I check my bank balance, and am shocked to see yet again nothing deposited! To me this means that the Administrators have blown the $195 Million SEESA payment for the staff, and also the $150 Million from ANZ I have been given a piece of paper with my payout on it, but "the cheque is in the mail". .I read in todays paper that the best deal that the ACTU has come up with is $100 million to guarantee the employees entitlements. As I have worked for "Ansett" for a long time my entitlements are worth about 3 years service under Tesna. I am not prepared to risk my entitlements working for an Airline that is losing about $7 Million a week.

To all the employees (7000?????) that wish to take their chance, I suppose it depends on how much you stand to lose. For some of you it is very little, but for the long term employees it is a hell of a lot.

Where does the new figure of 7000 employees come from?? I suppose that 6000 of them are working one day in 10. A sceptic would say that if they are employed even one day a month they don't have to be payed out. Remember there are others in line two and three waiting in the wings for your job! Better sign up quick before they do!

Good luck, all the best!

Cool

So the sale is delayed for 30 days, does this mean that due to the expected loss of $30 Million that Tesna will still pay $270 Million. What about an offer of $240 Million and $100 Million for staff entitlements! This seems to be the way it is heading. Perhaps the Government should buy the terminals and pay out the staff.

G-F, please get your facts correct. The government already owns the entire airport including the terminals. All that is up for grabs is the long term lease. The only money that has been made available to the administrators is the $150M from ANZ. To think that this would pay the entire entitlements of the VR staff immediately is a bit farfetched. Liquidation would only mean a minimum return many months down the track. As I said previously "Maybe something or nothing"; your choice.

Do you realise that the governments offer of entitlements is only covering leave owing and 8 weeks redundancy. I was of the understanding the initial offers also covered 4 weeks severance pay also. No idea if those 4 weeks still stand. So do you take 16 weeks pay or hold out for sixty two? . .WITHOUT HOPE THERE IS NO FUTURE.. .And just want to thank Flying Fox for your sympathies. Times are tough for all AN employees departed and remaining. Just hope we last the distance. <img src="frown.gif" border="0">

Seek ignorance of previous post. Spirit is somewhat broken at present. The enthusiasm is wearing thin & negative remarks leave one doubting ones gut instinct. . .I've also had "frequent flyers" up to the eyeballs. Can someone enlighten me as to the meaning of these words. One who flys frequently would be my guess! Not someone who puts everything they bloody well own on their credit card and every bill that crosses their thresh hold.. .Do these people realise that it is the retailers that accept their cards that are the ones paying for their pathetic points. $1.40 of every transaction performed on credit cards goes toward paying the banks for frequent flyer programs, be it a $5 purchase or a $25 000 purchase. . .I
