Careful, Lead Balloon, we're in danger of agreeing with each other

Yup the Winter Olympics crowd sure flush out some interesting critters to warmer climes.

Cooda is close, dont you just love this internet thingy, where not only can you debate matters of national import but play Citizen Kane, Machiavello or even 'de Bergerac as well.

Gaunty
You never struck me as being an egomaniacal, Italian opera singer with an outsized proboscis .

Any truth in the rumour that the Winter Olympics are to trial a new triathalon...skiing, shooting and the fifty metre wind-up????

De Bergerac?
Oh yes, wasn't he the fellow whose nostrils arrived a good quarter of an hour before the rest of him? What had he to do with CASA?

Cooda

You haven't lived until you've been to La Scala when rival opera heroes are singing, it's just like a World Cup Soccer final, booing, cheering, opposing patrons (claques) trying to out clap the other, typical Italian serious stuff but so much fun.

"outsize proboscis"??... mrs gaunty just laughs and tells me to stop being silly and just put it way.

50 metre wind up sounds like fun

Ever been fly fishing, I haven't yet, but mean to as soon as I get more time, seems like a very relaxing pursuit and I love fishing.

BTW I am trying to get someone to rise to the bait, perhaps I need to change the fly, hang on.................ahhh that should do it.

Which two cities have a large lake next to them and share an architect of the Prairie School. Wonder if Lead Balloon knows?

Gaunty

There’s a large and salty one there as well! I must beg your indulgence once again: let’s keep that our little secret, shall we old chap? It’s especially delicious when we send them down a false trail. I hope the red herring’s got a good sense of humour.
