Post Port Sky Diver 206 Down

Girlfreind told me she saw on the news that Port sky divers had an aircraft land on the beach . Can anyone confirm this please.

I heard the same thing today hun, I heard several diferent versions of events, pilot and 5 pax all ok.

Heard that only the pilot was onboard,occured after the drop and on final to land.Engine failure and crashed into trees 3miles short.Heard there was minor damage,lastly was extensive damage?. Thankgod the pilot is OK, a credit to him.

Yes dash 8 it's a Port Maquarie operator, the skydivers themselves don't own an aircraft, the aircraft in question I believe is the port aero 206 - unless they got one from somwhere else, haven't been there myself for some time.

Comes as no surprise if you know anything about operating jump planes, and have seen the way they operate theirs.

Why does credit go to the pilot if he put it in the trees, seems like a pretty silly place to land an aircraft with all that open space around!. .Yes, I have been in and out of the Port many times.

Meaning?

You know, not all jump pilots are cowboys, you know. Narrow-minded and mis-informed libelous material like that is what is not needed here, or anywhere else for that matter. Sure accidents can and do happen (I've almost had one myself - for that matter), but to slur an operator like that is not on. <img src="mad.gif" border="0">
