Station Flying
G'day,
I have a mate who can't get to a computer/PPRuNe. He is interested in getting into station flying. Can anyone experienced in this give me an idea as some good companies for him to try, and what requirements are looked for in a potential pilot.
Cheers,

Yer try Stanbroke Pastoral Co. talk to Neil Bates, NAPCO, & AA company. Try reading the Rural newspapers as pilot jobs will appear in these & not in normal press. You may want to get a low-level mustering endorsement, it could help in gaining a job. Also dont act like a arrogant pilot f#%k just go with the flow & the rednecks will accept you better. Find the phone no.s in the yellow pages, it is not hard.

Also try Kidmans from SA. They have stations in SA, QLD and WA and operate Super Cubs, a C206 and possibly a C172 which they only acquired recently.....I think? They require around about 300hrs and prefer pilots with a rural background but they do take "city types". No experience necessay as they put potential pilots through a low level course and tail wheel endorsement with John Freeman and then further mustering training with the Chief Pilot.
They advertised for a driver a couple of weeks ago so do a search through the OZ JOBS forums for further details or check out their web site www.kidman.com.au/
