Cool 6 717's are on the way

It will be official early this week but it has been confirmed from a excelent source at QF that 6 more 717 have been ordered. All I know at this stage is that they are second hand jets and Qantas want to keep the order low key so VB don't get upset with QF getting too much more publicity

Question

Icarus,. .Exactly my point. Something similar to what you have posted above will have to be submitted to the ASX when the Board makes their decision. So far nothing has been registered. So, so far (and I believe they will get more) more B717 aren't coming. I think a few people are getting a little excited. Remember this RUMOUR has been going on for months now. If I counted up every B717 that was on its waynto Impulse there would be 50 or 60 on line by now.

All well and good cruz, but Impulse/Qantas would know before the ASX. And I reckon they would know a bit more than YOU. I they say they are coming, then I believe them. You may find that you will be eating your own words next week.. .. .I do agree that nothing has been formally announced, and you have every right to believe or assume that no jets are coming,....BUT, there are people on this forum that do post facts that have an element of truth.. .. .I can assure you that 6 jets have been rubber stamped and are getting ready for delivery as we speak. . .. .Be prepared for the "I told you so's" next week and get a plate ready for some humble pie.......

Jimbo,. .Read my post. I actually state in my last post and others referring to this matter that I think Impulse will be getting more B717. I am surprised it has taken this long. . .What I have been trying to say I suppose is that I would have thought announcements to the ASX / media are normally the first thing that happens. It has things to do with ASIC so people don't get the inside word on whether to buy or sell shares in the company before major announcements. . .. .Don't count your chickens before they hatch, it might even be more OR less OR none. With the way things are changing with this company things can change for better or worse very quickly.. .. .BTW I'll eat my humble pie anytime if required. I just hope you can IF you are in anyway wrong.

Exclamation

Just a point for some of the players. Most people in FLight Ops knew for months that an order for more 737s or A320s was coming and roughly when the aircraft were scheduled to be on line. The fact that the ASX didn't know about it because it was still being negotiated didn't mean that it wasn't going to happen.. .. .The company may well be negotiating for more 717s and Impulse may well be training up in case they do but it isn't 'official' yet and can be canned any day up until (and possibly after) the information is released to the general public.. .. .The board have a habit of changing their minds from time to time when it comes to fleet acquisition. Even the CEO can change his mind and go with gut instincts sometimes.
