Post ASA cuts Cleve/Wudinna flights

Reported in the Advertiser today - Airlines of SA cut flights to CVC and WUD because the state govt. has cut its subsidies of the service.. .. .I fear this is the beginning of the end for more SA regional services... Ceduna? Port Augusta? Mildura (well not exactly SA)?

Thumbs down

The question needs to be asked why this 2 bit operator was receiving government money to operate the route when the only reason they didn't have an aircraft is because they can't afford to purchase engines for the ASA graveyard at Parafield airport. I feel ill when I think that operators trying to make ends meet are undermined by the like of those people. The laughable matter is that they could kid themselves into thinking that they could Kendell. Their arrogance is only surpassed by sheer stupidity and enormous egos

Unhappy

Its a shame that ASA have to reduce their flights. There are a lot of good guys that fly for them, and I hope they don't get put out on the street.. .. .Best of Luck!

I can remeber when Whyalla Airlines operated the Cleve/Wudinna service at a profit WITHOUT Govt funding. It was their bread and butter run.. .Then of course ASA took it on and started screwing it up straight away.. .Aircraft breakdowns with huge dalays and not telling any pax of the delay, not paying overnight accomodation at WUD, more aircraft breakdowns, and then of course the passengers will look for another way to get to Adelaide, hence the drop in numbers.. .. .ASA had the AD/PAG/LEC run and screwed it up, now the AD/CVC/WUD run is screwed, they are doing their best at screwing the AD/PAG service, what next ??. .. .And she reckons a hot contender to buy Kendell in Adelaide. . .. .Ha..Hahaha.....hahahahhaha....hahahahahahahahahaha..oops !. .

It would appear that ASA are on the way out, especially with their maintenance problems. One Bandit seems to now be used as a Christmas tree with only two operational. The PAG run has now reverted to a PA31, only using a "spare" Bandit on odd ocasions.. .. .I also feel sorry for the guys working there. A great bunch who bend over backwards to do their job, yet are treated like dirt by management.. .. .If the comapny can't fix and maintain their aircraft, I doubt whether they could afford Kendell.

..and yet they manage to get through CASA audits again and again. Perhaps someone should audit CASA just to see how they let ASA continue to operate. . .. .Yes, the pilots at ASA are a great bunch who have to deal with a so much sh!t from the management. They do a good job considering the conditions that they work under.. .. .Rumour is that they have sold Aerolec to Nat Jet, maybe to finance CK's bid for KD.

Infidel and one nut

Last time I looked Whyalla were not operating. Last time I looked Kendall (dell, whatever) is in deep doo doo (much is the pity). I too can remember back when places like Cleve Wuddina Ceduna LEC OOD etc recieved CV240 and F27 services almost daily, but time moves on.
However ASA are there, have been there for some considerable time, and, despite the tall poppy schitt from people like you, will probably be their for a long time to come. Sure Ck has been known to be a hard task mistress, its only cos she won't take crap from people like you, do a good job and treat her well and she will treat you as family. Remember the saying about not suffering fools gladly.
As one who has worked for them, I have nothing but gratitude and admiration for what that have built up from a small flying school.
Pull your head in jerk. Its a small world and one day you may just wish you had been a little nicer to C and TK, and perhap K Mc K too.

Cheers gg
