Post MORE 717'S IT LOOKS LIKE

Executive Manager Regionals,Narendra Kumar let it slip at a SAA meeting that more B717's are "immenent" read into that what you wish, but cynical as it may sound going broke certainly gave all the IMP pilots plenty of opportunities in QF, sad to say at this stage that doesn't appear to be recipricated on the loyal staff at SAA. (future uncertain at this stage, that should make the northen bretheren rejoice and circle over the carcass!!!!)

DEFJET, . .You say that like you think the pilots that probably applied to Southern, Eastern, and Sunstate, and somehow ended up with a position based north of Albury have a say in the matter!! . .I don't go to ML very often, but from what I have been told the attitude of the Southern staff toward crew from the north, who have no say in the matter of where we fly, has declined to the point of being ridiculous.. .I did not hear people from Southern complaining when the Tasmanian runs were taken from Eastern crews who initiated the runs, as well as CB-ML. I seem to recall SAA had titans and eventually got one dash to go MIA-ML. EAA also started WLM-ML, WLM-BN and that went to Sunstate.. .I am sure none of the crews had any say in the matter, as is the case now.. .Things look good for EAA pilots (and Impulse) but give it 12 months and it will all change again and the crews again will have no say, and will just turn up to work and go where they are told by Qantas.. .Maybe if SAA pilots had not knocked back the proposal for a common seniority list about 18 months ago, they would all have commands and not be complaining now!. .From my point of view I am happy to have a job in the industry considering events of the last 6 months.. . . . [ 28 March 2002, 06:05: Message edited by: How's it Hanging ]

What goes around comes around, the tone and attitude you exibit clearly shows why you would be treated with distaste in ML. . .You guy's just won't let up on the integrated seniority thing will you? What was the agenda, oh! thats right all for you nothing for us!. .Don't recall any SAA pilots ever abusing the crew from the jumpseat as yours did recently on a famil flight to DPO which left a real bad taste in the crew's involved mouth, ask around it DID happen.. . . . [ 28 March 2002, 07:48: Message edited by: DEFJET ]

Angry

DJ,. .Save your 'distaste' of the northern alliance for the toilet wall.. .The SAA pilot group will have to work will all the Qlink regionals for the integration to run smoothly.. .Maybe you should chanel some of your anger into harmonising the relationship,it will make your life easier when you have to sign on in SYD!

DEFJET, the impression that we get here in SYD is that some 50% of your Southern colleagues may soon be working with us in a combined operation. Neither you, I or anyone else at the coalface can do a damned thing about it. It is QF's train set and they will do what they want with it.. .. .The comments that you make however towards EAA can only serve to make the transition to a joint operation tougher for your Dash crews than it needs to be, as unfortunately some less mature colleagues of mine (one of whom you make mention of regrads the jump seat ride)will tar all Southern crew with the same brush that you deserve. I believe that Southern crew would expect better from you as their Melbourne SBC with regard to making the inevitable transition of Dash 8 ops as stress free as possible. . .. .Trying to start a slanging match with EAA staff on this forum will in the long run only damage what can be a good working relationship for your Dash crews. It appears you haven't changed much DEFJET since I last met you at Albert Rd. If you think you have anonimity on this forum you are mistaken and I hope Southern management and your peers have a quiet word to you about growing up and helping the inevitable cross-company relationships rather than destroying them.

DEFJET,. .I hoped common sense would prevail here about the choices pilots have in where they get sent, and not a slanging match.. .If one idiot at EAA made some stupid comments, he deserves all the abuse he gets, but most that I know just hope the decision on amalgamation or whatever else gets made soon and we get on with it in a civilised manner.. .I thought the idea of a common seniority list was to give all in the regionals a chance to change bases and move around a bit when the opportunity arose. That sounds beneficial to everyone to me.. .I don't know how true it is, but I have heard if the SAA 146's go, all the pilots will have spots on the 717's keeping their same rank, with seniority sorted out down the track.

Certainly some concerned people at SAA.. .. .But remember that eventually EAA and SSA as well as SAA will be gone - replaced by one amorphus blob called Qantaslink (Turboprop) or the like.. .. .The three current Dash regional identities will all go. We'll have one GM, one Chief Pilot, one Engineering Manager, one Financial controller. But remember that there will still be the same number of planes doing the same number of flights so we will still need the same number of Indian Pilots, even if there is only one Chief.. .. .The other thing you will notice is many of those positions are inorexalbly tied to those bits of paper called AOC's and C of A's (maint) and those involve a lovely group of chaps called CASA an we all know how quickly change goes past them.. .. .I think we will find out more or less what is happening late next month but the regulatory issues involved make this at best a 6-12 month process.

From experience, the more you know about SAA, the scarier it gets!. .. .BNL. .. .Edited because I just wanted to add that my comment does not actually relate to Pilots.. . . . [ 29 March 2002, 15:25: Message edited by: BareNakedLady ]

Vince you are just giving the Impulse guys a bad name. And there are a few others in the same boat. While the tide flows in your direction then you will give it out to make yourself feel better.

This is not excusing the others of slagging VQ guys off. You and Jimbo are just not getting it. Just because others play the man and not the ball it doesn't mean you have to do it as well.

If you don't think the VQ management beliefs have done harm to aviation then you haven't been around for long.

Can't you just enjoy your patch of luck quietly. What goes around comes around. Aviation has proven that so very succinctly in the past. Don't give any reason for it to come looking for you in the future.

in May and June of six Boeing 717 aircraft configured in two classes.

The new aircraft will allow Qantas to offer new Boeing 717 services
to destinations in Queensland, including Coolangatta, Rockhampton,
Proserpine, Mackay and Townsville.

"The arrival of these aircraft will increase tourism opportunities
throughout regional Queensland and will create more than 150 jobs
within QantasLink for pilots, flight attendants, engineers and
operational staff," Mr Dixon said.

QantasLink will introduce new non-stop services on routes between:

* Sydney and Rockhampton

"cant you just enjoy your patch of luck quietly"

If everyone kept everything to themselves, this forum wouldnt exist. It was OK for everyone to tell VQ guys that they werent getting jets, but now the tide has turned and YOU want them to be quiet?

Crawl in a hole, and let the VQ guys rejoice at the fact that THEY got it right this time, not YOU!

Vince is not giving the Impulse guys a bad name, it is people like you giving Impulse a bad name.

Thanks Jimbo for your support - all I've done was pass on secret information before it's due time - and for that I got urinated on from a great height..........

So yeah it is nice..........to get the truth out in the air and rub it back at the VQ bashers.

I don't begrudge any one - because as the old saying goes EVERY DOG HAS HIS DAY

If EAA / SUNNIES or anyother airline were going through rapid expansion and buying bigger better aircraft I'd be happy for the guys and girls to be in such a good position, and if it meant that much to me I'd probably even slip in a resume.......but the good old tall poppie syndrome still exists so many feel the right to cut VQ down which is not fair.

Besides the aviation industry is on the up again - Cathay are about to hire again , Virgin are hiring so in a few months time there will be enough cake for all experienced drivers to eat.

No need to fight kids we'll all get a window seat soon enough.

My work is done - A round of applause ladies and gentleman for.............Mr.Vincent jerome Brown

Good luck to you and yours at Impulse Jimbo and Vince. But you really do look foolish carrying on like a couple of 12 year olds....

Vince, I wouldn't brag too much about being an Impulse messiah. If Bevan finds out you who you are, and that you are releasing priveleged information on this forum prior to press release, you will find yourself unemployed very quickly old son. Read your documents. All QF (and subsidiary) employees are bound by non-disclosure.

Congratulations on your fleet expansion.

Pull your heads in.

Thanks for the advice Jarse..... I give up I'm waving the white flag.

And to clarify my last post ...... "my secret information" are nothing but "Rumours" which are derived from a "reliable source"......let me remind you all this a a rumour network. That little disclaimer should keep B.C. and any other cats happy.

8/10 of my Rumours come true, pitty I cant bet on them cause I'd win some cash. Mabey PPrune could set up an online gambling serivce and we can bet on the future outcomes of airlines.

But is is good to pass on whats heard around the traps for the benefit of us all - thats the whole idea of this forum. I appreciate news from guys in the know and I like to pass on information when I hear it as well.

Cheers Guys - Vincent Jerome Brown
