A great service for all. Well done, 40 years.
I recall one crashing on takeoff ex MEB a few years back. It crashed just short of Gladstone park, where the Western Ring road is now & a new suburb. I don't remember if there were any fatalities on it.

You are correct Buster, one did go in from EN. I think it was a 404, or a 402. Unfortunately if my recollection is right, all on board died. The original photos from the accident scene were used as examples of forensic scenes examination during my training at the police academy here in Victoria quite a few years ago.
That really was a tragic accident at EN. Highly experienced pilot who was keen on reduced power take-offs (in theory to save engine wear). He had an engine failure shortly after lift-off on runway 35. Possible rich cut, but only speculation.
Never got around to feathering the prop due possibly to having his hands full while transmitting on his hand held microphone. Never gained height and then with high power on remaining engine flicked inverted in Vmca stall and went in. Six dead. BASI unable to find out cause of engine failure or why the pilot unable to handle the problem.
