Nice to see that Cheryl is taking it so well, as usual....
Kernot to write tell-all book
From AAP

CHERYL Kernot has threatened to write a tell-all book about her experiences with the ALP after crashing out of federal politics.
Ms Kernot said she needed time to heal after losing the crucial Labor seat of Dickson to Liberal Peter Dutton.
The former Australian Democrats leader, who defected to Labor in 1997, suffered a swing of almost six per cent in the seat she won narrowly at the 1998 poll - a result she said would probably spell the end of her political career.
She joined the ALP's Leonie Short, who won the Ryan by-election in March, as the other Brisbane casualty of the nationwide swing against Labor.
Ms Kernot said she needed to take a break and "heal herself from the poison and viciousness that has been heaped on me for about four years now".
A big part of the healing process will be a book about her time in politics since joining the ALP.
"I think I'll write about it actually," Ms Kernot said.
"I think there are a lot of untold parts of the story which I would really like to put on the record.
"I would like my side of the story to be on the record for the sake of history."
After a stellar career with the Democrats, Ms Kernot's time with Labor has been dogged by controversy.
She had been a prime target for the coalition since her defection and after an election night dummy spit in 1998 when she complained about having to win a difficult seat.
This was capped by a hapless 2001 campaign, which featured a glaring lack of federal Labor MPs helping her campaign, and a slur about Mr Dutton's resignation from the police drug squad which she later retracted.
There were also allegations made about a stamp duty concession she received on a Gold Coast apartment while maintaining that her main place of residence was in her north-west Brisbane electorate.
Queensland Labor state secretary Cameron Milner described the Liberal campaign against Ms Kernot as "very low and despicable".
But Queensland Liberal Party President Senator John Herron blamed Ms Kernot's own actions during the election and the Labor Party for her demise.
"It was the Labor party that dudded her," he said.

Ok, now that the election is over, can we give back all that propaganda bull5hit that we've been getting in the mail over the last few weeks?
I do wonder how much our elections cost. The figure on the news last night was 70 million dollars, but that must be just the actual counting process, and not all the campaign stuff.

The only dirty politics in Dickson were those conducted by Ms Carenot who tried to smear her Lib. opponent with innuendo about his past police career, which apparently was nothing but honorable. The people responsible for her defeat was her own party, trying to foist her upon this electorate against the wishes of the local Labor committee. Until these people pay more attention to the wants and needs of the local electorate, they are doomed.
ps as an 89er I was never going to give my support to Labor anyway, until my dying day.
I'll get even with the silver bodgie yet.
