Jerry, food for thought, you can buy the business and the aircraft but you can not transfer or buy the AOC and approvals.
You must apply for a complete new AOC and approvals even though all the operations remain the same. A narsty catch from CASA.
If CASA is still under staffed and tied in red tape, then this may take you 6 months min! It might be worth your while in cost to start your own business from scratch , therefore avoiding pay the good will of a existing business.

Cool

Sheepdog. Whilst an AOC is not transferrable, most AOC's are held by companies. You can buy a company with an AOC (i.e. purchase the shares) and thus obtain an AOC.

Torres, i agree, thats if the ACN and Business name remain the same and if CASA do not find out , which they will in the first audit. Then they require a audit on you and whether you are a suitable person to hold a AOC . It might work for big companies but not for one man shows as they are a easy target. Then again the rules differ from state office to state office there is no level playing field with CASA .
