Post QF071 ex PER 25/08/01

Just some news heard this afternoon...

Melbourne Control contacted QF71 to advise a member of the public had seen
something fall from a Qantas aircraft..... about 5 miles from the field.

After a few discussions on the QF Company channel it was decided to keep
going to SIN. The pilot reported ops normal.

Anybody know anything else???

Goodbye

Exclamation

Heard on Mel Centre a few weeks back, a SQ Airbus had departed and Centre advised the crew that on a runway inspection carried out just after they had departed, they found what appeared to be "Airbus parts--from your undercarriage!" SQ were advised QF and Ansett engineers were inspecting the parts for verification... didn't hear what happened after that but they didn't return to PH.

Nothing more dangerous than a
Private Pilot passengering on an airliner with just a tad of "Boeing knowledge"!
