CRJ Flight Ops to resume in OZ????????/
Gosh it has been a while BUT "deepest throat" <tm> has stuck his ugly head above the bed covers and uttered the following prophetic words.
It seems that a certain smaller Melbourne airport GM was sighted at the Ansett Sim centre last friday discussing plans to resurrect the ex Kendall CRJ's and returning them to full flight Ops! For more information contact "the consortium1"
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm................
As I have said before thigs just keep getting more interesting. This may please a lot of kendall thrust drivers if this little consortium gets off the ground!
Stay tuned for more insights courtesy of Deepest Throat <tm>.
Regards

This is a little bizarre if you look at another thread which contained this quote from Kendell Airlines general manager Rob O'Brien (is this the new guy?) -
"Now that we don't have the CRJ regional jet operation, Kendell can be a smaller operation so it'll probably be around 20 to 30 per cent in this round."
Doesn't really make sense to me...

I still think the best idea I've heard is selling some of the CRJ's to the RAAF as part of the VIP fleet. (I think gaunty mentioned it first?)

TRansition Layer - I never said that kendall would be involved.
I still believe that a few CRJ's to the defence force VIP fleet is still on the table but that still leaves plenty of aircraft for a startup regional/city crosssover jet service. (If that is what they were discussing!)
Again all opinions - ideas and concepts are purely rumours and not made up by the author.
As always, I rely exclusively on the services of "Deepest Throat" <tm>

100_above. I will wait and see if the rumour comes to fruition. My only other comment at this time would be some one in considering this, would to do it properly, need heeps of cash. Any one who looked at the Kendell Public Information memorandum would be aware of that.

Thanks but it wasn't my suggestion, I just picked up on it from someone else here much brighter than I, as making real sense, but then we ARE talking about aviation here
Does anyone know if they have the same fuel cap/range as the Challenger SE or can it be retroed to the SE profile.

Guys and Gals,
talk of the RAAF picking up KD CRJs is twaddle. The ADF contract, the result of a long and involved government and defence process, is signed sealed and about to be delivered. The aircraft and cockpit are similar to CRJ200 but are CL604s with VIP setup for 9 pax, a number of additional different systems, and are probably being built as you read this.
My underground sources also indicate a possibility for the CRJ to stay in OZ, and believe there is great potential for the aircraft if they can be innovatively financed - should not be too difficult in the current economic climate!
