Along the same lines, what's happening at Aero Duck. Have they been sold and if so, to whom and what are their intentions

Dear Complex Toggler, you'll always be in the 146 'fumes' as they speed on by. 'Back on the rails' must refer to the train like speed of the Fokker. . .

Complex Tackle Switch,

If you want to get the honey, don't stir up the nest to much - your pockets are not deep enough.

Skywest going softly softly onto bigger fokkers (100's) might have a chance I hope, but it'll take more hard work than big talk.

Good luck!

Cool

Actually, in the fumes twice FF, as you overtake them on the way up and then they are still opposite direction traffic for you on the way back

Mud Skipper, might also help if they can get contracts, just ask Q/link.

This recently issued:

Media Statement . .27 February 2002

. .Little impact on Skywest from the Collapse of Tesna / Ansett deal

. .The collapse of the Tesna agreement to buy Ansett will have little impact on Skywest according to Managing Director Bill Meeke.

Speaking from Singapore, Mr. Meeke said Airline Investments Limited had put contingency plans in place before the company settled on the acquisition of Skywest.

Ansett provides Skywest with its reservations system, call centre, airport terminal space and ground handling services.

"Under the Skywest purchase agreement, the Ansett Administrator - in the event that the Tesna acquisition of Ansett does not proceed - is obliged to continue providing these services for 30 days so there is time to arrange a seamless transition to new arrangements.

"As yet the Administrators have not given Skywest the required notice.

"We are continuing negotiations in Singapore today regarding use of the Abacus reservation system and we hope to be able to make an announcement about this shortly.

"Discussions have been held previously with West Australian Airports Corporation for Skywest to retain its terminal space at Perth Airport under arrangements that will probably include sharing space with other domestic airlines.

"Ansett personnel will continue to provide passenger check-in, baggage handling and other ground services at Perth Airport until new arrangements are put in place for these task.

"Whilst these new arrangements are being put in place our customers can be assured that it is business as usual at Skywest," Mr Meeke said

. .Contacts. .Skywest 9478 9999. .Bill Meeke 0438 920 463

Seems as though somethings happening???????????

Looks like the only fumes being inhaled will be by those pax sitting in the 146 and exacerbated by the fumes of the F100 burning away about 30 miles in front............................... .I've seen worse offices to work in!

Good'ay Aerosoul. Yes the 146 is an ageing beast. It does the job well enough, but will no doubt give way to other types in time. . .I guess my gripe is the absurd slur from CTS about fumes and kicking 'arse'. This is a tough market at present. Competition is good, but the industry cannot support unlimitted numbers of players. The so called 'Red Rat' people who CTS wishes to kick are hard working people who use the equipment provided by their employer. Many of those pilots have themselves been trampled on in the past and hardly deserve another dose. . .I hope Skywest finds a niche to fill and I wish their staff well. I doubt though that QF or VB will notice them all that much.

Aerosoul,. .The 146's days are up - when QF says so! And then, it would only be to replace it with a better type.. .When this may be, who knows?. .Until then, maybe you should get your hand off it, and give it a rest.

Why don't you just put the two side by side. And once and for all see which one is longer.

Great to her that competition is still alive somewhere in this great industry of ours.

No regrets hmmmmm.
