Angry Impulse / Qantaslink B1900's For Sale

Some of you already know - but to others I hate to be the bearer of BAD NEWS.

All of Impulse / Qantas links B1900 fleet are for sale.

For Details go to www.speednews.com and then search through the aircraft available section for details of each individual aircraft.

Great machine awsome to fly but lets just hope we don't suffer the same fate of our fellow aviators in recent time.

Time to send the resume's out.....

AGAIN!!!

Bottoms up - VINCE !!!!

In case no one knows. The 1900's have been for sale for the last 6 months.

Does anyone actually think all 13 will be sold overnight?

MAMMAN,
Look at the website listed. They were placed on the market on November the 26th, 2001. Not 6 months ago.

VB,
The news about the B1900's For Sale was posted by "GAFA" on Saturday along with the link to speednews on the other thread about the Impulse 1900's. I would suggest that you have a look before you start another thread with the same news.

Maman, no they won't sell all 13 overnight, but there is talk that they will start to park aircraft. Both Eastern and Sunstate have new aircraft arriving early next year, and Qantas is already talking to other operators about replacing the B1900's on routes where the Dash 8 will not operate. And just like 2daddies said, they were no listed until the 26th, a week after Qantas completed the Impulse purchase.

Listed Nov 26th they may have been, but I understand that they have been available for sale for longer than 6 months.....Might also be interesting to note that there are a further 12 aircraft listed on the SpeedNews site alone, and I know of a heap more that are for sale, so I doubt that Qantas/Impulse will realise the movement of these aircraft in the very near future....Unless of course the rumours about someone picking up the leases are true

NASA,
My understanding is that the deal Gerry had with the 1900s was one of the best in the industry. If the aircraft were to go to another operator wouldn't it require a new lease deal and has most people know the 1900 is the most expensive of all 19 seat aircraft to operate any new operator would require deep pockets.

When and if the 1900s go, there would be many towns without links unless another airline takes over. Anyone care to guess which airline(s) might have a go?
