Post Recognition of Australian quals

G'day people,

Anyone know the requirements to convert an AUS ATPL to a UK ATPL or CPL ??

My attempts to get info out of the JAA and the UK CAA have been dificult.

I have heard they want the full theory exam and something like 40 hours CIR training on a UK registered aircraft. This sound right ??

Is a US FAA qualification as hard to get ?

Thanks

I seem to recall that a copy of your current licence, together with log books, will need to be sited by the UK CAA in the hope that they will specify what subjects you must sit or are exempt from. This is the case for the practical flying as well. Be prepared to be financially screwed by a system which is unparalled in it's ferocity for charging. The only advantage of this is the subsidised lunch served at CAA Gatwick. The food is second to none, and your even allowed in 15 minutes after the employees of the establishment have graced themselves. Well, after all, you did pay for their culinary pleasure!!

Info posted here not long ago..... Reddo's UK ATPL info page!

Not sure about the U.S, but I daresay a quick search of the pprune website should dig-up more than you can read on the subject.
