Post Tesna reveal new executives

Tesna reveal new executives . . . .From AAP. .21jan02

THE Lew-Fox Tesna company has announced its key senior executive appointments to lead the revamped Ansett airline.

The appointees will take over operations on February 1 if Tesna gets the nod as expected at the Ansett creditors' meeting next week.

The 17 new executives were selected through an internal and external recruitment process conducted by KPMG and Tesna chief executive James Hogan.

In his first public statement today, Mr Hogan said he was pleased to be working with the executives.

"We are preparing the airline for transition to private ownership, and looking forward immensely to the challenge ahead," Mr Hogan said in a statement.

Among the new appointments is Adam Moroney, formerly of Air New Zealand, who will take on the role of chief financial officer.

Ansett captain Trevor Jensen will be brought in as executive general manager of operations, and Ansett public affairs manager Heather Jeffery will enter the revamped company as executive general manager of corporate affairs.

Further senior appointments are expected to be announced in the near future

At this stage there does not appear to be any new surprises.

I would have thought that fresh minds would have been the key to turning around a company - not the encumbents that helped to steer it there in the first instance.

Nothing changes, if nothing changes.

Talking

Or the other side of Rescues comment is that "everything changes and nothing changes".

Someone wrote it on another thread. Trevor certainly is a survivor!

Lightbulb

Isn't the definition of insanity "doing things the same way you always have and expecting to get a different result"?

Take the dime in the dollar folks. (Note the lexical consistency of “dime”, Gaunty) That bird in the hand is becoming increasingly valuable when compared with the scorched gallahs blinking balefully in the burnt out Ansett bush.

Thumbs up

Touche! My excuse is that I wanted some alliteration with "dollar". "Dime" fitted nicely.

Even "nickel" is inaccurate, given that the reimbursement would be in Pacific Pesos!

He was previously the CFO of NZ. Before that he was Deputy CFO at QF under GT.

Apparently he is very good and none of the mess at NZ can be laid at his feet. He arrived into the carnage and like they did with GT, the NZ Board were keen for him to absorb the flak they created.

NZ offered him a continuing role under their new regime but he has chosen to return to Aus for "career" and family reasons.
