Post Back Again

G’day Pruners;
Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year.
Haven’t had a chance to catch up on the website, since we came back from Mission Beach.
Over there, Johnno and I (and our better halves,) caught up with some old friends. One bloke was a cane cutter from back in the ‘60’s that Johnno knew, and he has a private licence. So much of that was talking about flying and then general state of the nation in that regard.
This year might be interesting in the way it unfolds with the airline industry. Johnno reckons Virgin Blue will float, and that if Ansett starts up under Lindsay and Solly, it will struggle. He is keeping his Qantas shares at the moment he reckons. Although he reckons he should have had shares in the company the Ansett administrators come from. Better than Poseidon.
We had a trip up to Cairns while we were over there, and I have to say I always find the atmosphere around those Northern aerodromes like Cairns and Townsville interesting. I mean especially the light aircraft side. Everywhere people go from up there is the outback, which I have to say those of us who come from it, love.
Johnno is heading over to Perth in April on business and he is going to head due west, then down the coast. He wants me to go, but I can’t get away then. My wife has other plans.
Did I ever mention I had a son in the airline industry? He left Australia some years back and works in the UK. Just a ground job, not a flyer. He wrote to us then other day saying he had a BBQ when some Aussie friends dropped in, despite the fact is was –2 and snowing.
Well I have to go and get some work done. Just wanted to touch base with the Pruners and wish you all the best.
Keep up the good work there Woomera.

Jumbuck Jack
Thanks for the news and views and hope you had a great one too.

Just put the eldest daughter on the plane back to Brisbane, she's been over for the break, but has to go back to keep and eye on the environment in QLD for you blokes, lest the pols and developers turn it all into canals and theme parks.

Interesting times eh, good old Qantas is still showing em how it's done Qld style, straight up and clear.

Gonna have to close this off now as the blowies are starting to gather.

Guess we'll hear from you around Easter racing carnival time then.
cheers
Woomera.
