Cool Anyone know of any parachuting work?

Does anyone know of operators willing to take on a low time pilot for parachuting, sightseeing, whatever? Any contributions welcome. Cheers.

You must be kidding, aren't you? They'll all take you on, as long as you've got 10 hours on type. Just don't expect to be paid, and expect to be treated like Shi#. If your're serious, don't work for nothing. If you want some info, see my profile and email me.

Step 3: Don't get your hopes up.

Thumbs down

If everyone wants 10hrs on type - parachuting ops included - then where the hell are u sposed to get it?

Like most of us, I don't have the spare $$$ to throw around getting 10 hrs in a 182/206/210.

thanks for the replies. No I am not kidding, obviously these sort of companies take low time pilots, I was just wondering if anyone knew any specific companies at present who were after pilots. 29351 thanks, I have emailed you. Okey Dokey, I have followed your steps but not much had happened!

TL, Precisely correct! If everyone wants 10hrs on type and they do, how on earth do you run and spend $3,000 and return only to find they have either already put on a pilot or they look at you with this stupid gaze and say. "Have we met before"? Meaning no job! Has hapenned to myself a few times and several times to a lot of people I know. On top of that a lot of para employers on top of not paying a dime, request where you did your type check and 10hrs command on type and have contacted the organisation to confirm this.
Finally, He/She lobster for Gods sake. Don't fly for free! I assure you it will come back later in your career and haunt you.

Lightbulb

If you want sightseeing work, go up north to Kakadu, The bungles, or Ayers Rock. Most of those operators take on low hour pilot's, plus a majority of these companies have twin's that after a while you could progress onto.

In my opinion, give the parachuting work a miss, and try to get yourself a charter job up north.

One last thing, Don't fly for free!

Cheers,
Capt EFIS
