ANFO For your info as a result of an agreement between KAL management and ALPAK(thats the union in case you didn't realise), there will be no scabs employed in KAL in the foreseeable future. No western meddling in this, it is purely locally driven. . .With regard to your sources on Asiana, I presume these are the same sources that were painting a rosy future in Ansett under Tesna.. .. .I must say I am mightly impressed that you are a man of action! As for the jack russel terrier that follows you, its about time you jerked his choker a bit tighter and got him a course in remedial english.. .. .Cheers dears. .. .GG. . . . [ 19 March 2002, 02:56: Message edited by: Grange Guzzler ]

Let's get this straight!. .89er's are the guys/gals who did not scab!. .ANFO, et al, are now referring to scabs as 89er's, trying to whitewash the heros' records.. .Well, it won't wash!

TTT, This point has been delt with on the previous page. We all take your point, I'm sure, but you're going a bit far by suggesting some sort of conspiricy to decieve, which there isn't.

bgt, although I am NOT employed by Virgin Blue - but I DID apply - I believe the answer to your question is "Yes, VB have employed some pilots who were involved in the 1989 dispute!".. .. .I`m sure that, because of Australia`s anti-discrimination laws, all applications are given consideration and final selection is made based on whether it is believed the candidate fits the profile the airline (in this case Virgin Blue) is looking at. . .Probably in a similar way that Ansett vetted their applicants post 1989. . .. .As far as employing pilots on a scab/non-scab basis, I very much doubt that too many employers would care either way - to them we are simply `bus (or train) drivers who fly a schedule at the times, levels, and speeds the dispatchers plan us at. Unless there was some concern that a scab/non-scab was going to create a problem with the other workers BECAUSE of his/her presence, the employer might even lean in favour of the scab because he has shown that he`s willing to take the broom handle - sideways if required - without wincing.. .What better employee could you ask for??. .. .Personally, I don`t care WHERE they end up - unless it`s HERE!!

Red face

I'd be surprised if half of either side of this debate really know what is in the minds of those that matter, ie: those that hire & fire.. .. .I'd also go as far as to say, if you were told, you would not believe what their thoughts are anyway.. .. .Interesting position Kapton M:. .. .
quote:
although I am NOT employed by Virgin Blue - but I DID apply

quote:
Personally, I don`t care WHERE they end up - unless it`s HERE!!

Does that mean, that had you been accepted by VB and that some of the others had also, you would quit and not work with/for them, or would you expect the others to quit

The Alex Patterson "Scab list" has re-surfaced with some new names. Many of these people had nothing at all to do with the dispute. Disgusting.

ANFO - there are four new names added to the updated list and two removals. Please advise who of the four had nothing to do with the dispute (with evidence supporting your claim) and I am sure Alex will have them removed immediately.
