Post RNZAF skyhawks go to court

From "NZOOM.COM"

The Save our Squadrons campaign has announced it is filing proceedings in the High Court at Wellington against the government's decision to disband the air combat force.

Spokesman David Dickens says the Defence Minister's decision is a clear breach of the Defence Act. He says the proceedings will include an application that the project be put on hold.

Dickens says the NZ squadron of Skyhawks at Nowra has received an urgent request to join the Australian defence force preparing for deployment to Afghanistan.

He says it seems extraordinary that the Skyhawks, which the government calls "clapped out", should be so highly thought of by Australia.

My comment
GOOD LUCK TO THEM!!!!!!!

yes, good luck to them

although the skyhawks are old and will
need replacing soon if kept, they preform a vital role, also the loss of highly trained
personal both in the cockpit and on the ground will be tragic, obviously helen
does not know that there is a potential
threat only 7000km's away in the form of
indonesia, a threat which is overflown daily
by kiwis and tourists coming to nz from
singapore and beyond.
