what a waste of money!!!
Happened to catch the "rebirth" of Ansett in Adelaide this morning.
Lots of clapping and cheering going on, as well as champagne, softdrinks, cake and T-Shirts and stickers for the travelling public.
All the news crews were there also.... actually I was impressed with the fact that they managed to get the right airport, let alone correct airline and departure time!
Aparet from all that.... wishing all the crew/staff well. Good to see you back

City welcomes Ansett back

PASSENGERS and staff have celebrated the resumption of Ansett flights from Adelaide.
The first of two daily flights to Melbourne left Adelaide Airport about half full this morning.
The airline has also scheduled a daily midday flight to Perth.
The services have been underwritten by the federal government.
Premier Rob Kerin said the return of Ansett was a great day for company workers and the state.
"It's just so good to see Ansett back in the air again in South Australia and to see the smiling faces of the workers who are back on deck," Mr Kerin said.
"The tourism industry is the other big winner with the new flights now being able to cater for the demand in the lead up to South Australia's peak tourism and major events season."
Mr Kerin said a government task force was currently working on a business plan to present to Ansett administrators. This was to ensure any new owners of the airline would continue to include Adelaide on its schedule.
The Australian Services Union said staff involved in getting today's flight away on time were glad to be back at work after being out of action since the airline's initial collapse back in September.
A spokesman said it was an emotional experience for everyone.
Opposition Leader Mike Rann called on South Australian travellers and businesses to support the airline by buying tickets.
He also called for continued efforts to have flights resume between Adelaide and Sydney, and Adelaide and Darwin.
Some Port Power players were on hand this morning to farewell flight 714, with team member Che Cockatoo-Collins among the passengers on board.
Port Adelaide chief executive Brian Cunningham said Ansett had been a terrific sponsor of the club for many years and he hoped the flight was just the first of many to and from Adelaide.
"We hope all of our supporters will fly Ansett again and get behind the company which has put so much into our football club," he said.

let me answer that, hugh... port power, like the adelaide crows, are the most skill-less, overrated and probably homosexual teams in the afl. If I were you I would be thanking christ every day so that I didnt have to listen to the ridiculous adelaide press praising these 2 poor attempts at being a football team.
