Internet Explorer 7 Public Beta 2
Hi All,
Has anyone downloaded and installed the new Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 Public Beta 2? If anyone has could it be recommended or would it be wise to steer clear at the moment. |
I would avoid any version of IE on principle.
|
I agree with frostbite.
Plus, if it's a beta release, then going by Microsoft's usual standards, it will be even more insecure.. |
Give it another 2-3 years to become stable :{ I'm sticking with FF thank you very much :ok:
|
I tried it and instantly lost my btinternet connection. At least System Restore redeemed BG's name... I'd recommend Firefox or Opera instead.
|
What especially makes this a declared beta version when everything else M$ release is unfinished anyway?
|
I downloaded the Beta some months ago - system instantly crashed. System Restore did just what it promises.
I downloaded the Beta again last month. Find it much better than IE6 and, so far, very stable. The ONLY bug I have with it - and it may be co-incidence - is that I keep trying to remove a tool bar ("mywebsearch") that wife put on for me. Everytime I open a new window - there it is again. So far, I really like IE7. |
is that I keep trying to remove a tool bar ("mywebsearch") |
Installed neatly and using it now - no problems at all, and I'm learning to love tabbed browsing!!
I know MS/Bill are actually the anti-christ(s), but life does seem to have got a bit better with IE7: For this user (moving to the Apple dark side on the next hardware change) a happy enough upgrade! |
Tabbed browsing is great...So is FireFox...
You won't catch me using IE |

I've used IE7 for a while now without any problems at all.
Normally I use Opera but there are still some sites that insist on IE and IE7 is must better than IE6. |
After some painful experiences, IE is banned from my computer - as is Outlook and Outlook Express. Those websites that only work with IE have lost my business. Firefox suits me fine.
I'm learning Linux fast! |

I'm getting multiple Netgear DG834G Modem/Router disconnections with BT/Yahoo. Should have known better than to expect a Microsoft product to work flawlessly.
Like the user interface though, neat tidy, user friendly. Like the Phishing filter. |
Worked okay for me.

Got bored with IE6 so downloaded Firefox about a year ago (wanted tabbed browsing). I have since downloaded IE7 Beta2.
I have to say that even in its Beta version IE7 is more stable than the flaky Firefox. Roll on the full release. |
